Also I've had a gun pointed at my head before. I don't recall any god coming into my thought process during said time where I didn't know if I would die.

I have to strongly disagree here!

It wasn't rick but the eyepatch wearing morty who was responsible for the morty wall. Rick is innocent! Sleepy

Actually the stabbed wall of Mortys was evil Morty not Rick.

Like those cartoons where Jesus is looking over someone's shoulder giving them awful advice? Are you sure you don't mean 'leaning on stereotypes' when you say 'anchored in reality'?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

If he'd just posted it in humor he wouldn't come off as a complete asshole.  But then he wouldn't be drich.

As WW1 showed to awful effect, the opposite is most likely true. As Fred Clark of Slactivist fame said, that war in fact showed that there "were few christians leaving the trenches".

That war was probably the death blow to christianity in Europe, it exposed the preachings of the various denominations and sects as nothing but empty hot air.

It's less about the insincere conversion and more about the belligerent denial that followed.
