Priests.

Is that, not often enough, or to much?

Yes.

But why demons and exorcism? It feels like a play to prop up a/another false need for the church.
But here's the thing it's not pragmatic their looking for . Their looking for underlying cause and to many of a religious mindset oogity boogity and demons are that  cause . Monks and religious "scholar" use to blame real world problems on superstition like demons . So i imagine their doing so now .

They generally don't exorcize pedo priests, do they?

Just reassign them somewhere else . . . .

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I mean... bigots have always been everywhere. The internet just makes the crazies crazier, doesn't matter where you're from. Anthropologically speaking, though, demonic possession and exorcism rituals are a big part of the traditional culture of the south (google "Taranta", it's actually pretty close to what an exorcism should mean).

Also, another thing that must be taken into account is the fact that some fundamentalist catholics see exorcisms as a kind of "conversion therapy" for their children, should they falter in their beilefs or well, come out as non-cis/straight. Please note though that this last point is purely anecdotal (gathered from facebook comments on news pages) and I'm yet to meet anyone who's ever had an exorcism.

On a side note, I thought this was about the election, lol

Italians should think about how their first foray into fascism ended.

Oh man, the habit of responding to fascists on the internets by posting flipped screenshots of their posts NEVER gets old

Catholics are down on page 100, 792 making up more shit, and fundamental tenets of their faith (resurrection of Jesus, original sin, virgin birth, etc) remain unproven . . .

Sad.
