Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

What's your gut reaction to this?
I'll be back to check, I'm going to watch my show.
As someone who has tried on and off for the last twenty five years to NOT reject Christ, I have come to the conclusion, it's more 'I can't'. I don't think it's possible to conjure up the 'will power' to believe in someone who remains elusive and who you don't understand. So, it seems to boil down to people rejecting the 'idea' of Christ, rather than Him as a real person.

Yep, even the smarties get it wrong time to time. What next?
(Unless you really want to delve into why he believed that god was a simple concept, it's pretty much a whats what of atheism.)

A basic scientific principle.
You do realise that Father William of Occam was a theologian right Ace? Perhaps there is benefit in thinking outside of proof based disciplines?
Doesn't matter who developed the principle. If it works I'll use it. Though I think his own principle goes against his beliefs. Anyway, it was altered and has become a scientific principle.
"one should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything"
Explanation that require the fewest assumptions is most likely correct. Obviously the theologian didn't realise that adding a god into something will mean adding many assumptions. The principle works, that's all that matters. Don't matter who developed it.
