Quote:Missing worker feared dead after Texas chemical plant blasts
Quote:The blast was the latest accident at chemical plants in the state. Hurricane Harvey last August flooded an Arkema SA chemical plant in Crosby, Texas, causing volatile organic peroxides to catch fire.
More than a dozen emergency workers were treated for respiratory problems from smoke inhalation in that incident. Five years ago, a blast at West Fertilizer Co, in West, Texas killed 15 people, including plant workers and first responders.

Thinking corporate America will sufficiently regulate itself is a pipe dream. It's an infantile level of mental functioning.

Class action lawyers will step into the void.
Probably way cheaper to regulate, but then what would lawyers do ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I think we'd have to flip a coin over whether conditions would improve..or the plant would hire trash executives who don't care whether their families lived or died. My moneys on the latter..because it would cost a lot less money. I got a cousin named Cletus that would take the job and stuff his family in the fucking boiler for less than minimum wage.

Maybe I'm missing something but where in this story does it indicate that a lack of regulation is the cause?
The article uses the word "accident".
Could be employee error: "Workers were mixing chemicals used in oil and gas drilling when the first of two explosions occurred...".
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

What regulations?

Quote:Crosby plant explosion highlights state efforts to block access to chemical information
Quote:That's because in recent years, state leaders have made it increasingly difficult for communities to learn what, exactly, sits inside the chemical plants in their neighborhoods — and just how dangerous it might be. The implications of such efforts came into focus this week, after Hurricane Harvey battered, drowned and endangered such facilities along the Texas coast.
