As you age, do you find yourself becoming more or less irritable?

RE: As you age, do you find yourself becoming more or less irritable?
I find I am far less irritable than I used to be. Not commuting for minimum 2 hours a day on one of the worst freeways (405 in CA) probably plays a role in that. One of those hours I don't spend commuting is now added back into my daily sleep.

I've always spoken my mind, so that hasn't changed. But my responses are less incendiary.

Less irritable, and more forgiving too.

There was an individual on TV some years ago, considerably disfigured by a quack plastic surgeon who openly forgave them for the fuck up.

It really rattled my cage and got me thinking. Also, I know a pretty well off couple who had an employee embezzle very nearly a million clams from their business. After the trial and what in my opinion was a VERY light sentence (just a few years) they asked for and received a moment with their employee and told them they would bear no ill will over the matter and they would be eligible for a rehire (but not doing the books) in their company when the sentence was up. I thought it was pretty classy of them, also, they could have been total a-holes about it (sued for recovery etc) and they chose not to. I wasn't that nice at the time, and I may not be now, but I'd like to think I am closer than I was.

As for the disfigured individual, eventually they were able to find a skilled plastic surgeon who substantially fixed the worst of the disfigurement. A happy ending.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Now that I'm not a 24/7 drunk, less. And the things that once irritated me have changed.

That does not mean that you are allowed in my yard.

That speaks volumes, to me at least. You had sex with him.

When I was a kid and teen, I was rarely irritated.
When I was in my 20s, I grew angry faster and easier.
In my 30s I have learned to pick my battles. If I’m not going to let it get to me, I shrug it off. If I pick this battle, I battle to win. 30 year old happy me is the happiest, and 30 year old angry me is the strongest. I like my 30s. I’m comfortable in this skin.

More.
But apathy grew in parallel with the increase.

I turned 20 on my way to war. I turned 40 on my way to college. Chilling wasn't that crucial.
