That kind of thinking kept me in the Republican camp from the time I was old enough to vote (1977) until 1992 when the threat of the Soviet Union had vanished and the Democrats finally put up a candidate with backbone (Bill Clinton).

I will concede that at present, the US already has military might that no other nation can match. I will argue though that that is precisely why Russia and China are relatively well-behaved. Both recognize that a military conflict with the US would be disastrous. It is in their best interests to compete in other ways. I would like to see that situation persist because if it were not the case, both would be all over us in a heartbeat.

It's worth noting that the US could cut our military expenditures in half and still spend more than both Russia and China COMBINED. By exactly how much isn't entirely clear, though.

And yet some of them claim that our military isn't strong enough. I wonder, strong enough for what? Conquering the entire world? You'd think every other developed country would be doing their level best to get America to chill out before WW3 happens because America starts taking everything.

The fix is (obviously) in.

The dems are going to let the 'pubs spend on their bases interests in exchange for the ''pubs for the most part leaving social spending untouched.

And with the economy heating up some, some social spending is going to come down on it's own anyhow, and the economy will generate more tax revenues for all spending (yeah with more deficits). And overlooked is all the tariff money that is going to pour into the treasury.


I don't think Trumply will ever have a surplus like Bill Clinton did, but I'll say he's going to get closer than any other president since Ford if one goes by % and not actual (inflated) dollar amounts.

Recall, during WWII the US borrowed substantially less than 1 trillion dollars. We've pissed away more than that just on corruption, waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq.
