Why do some believers claim that all religions are just as good?
|
Such a claim as finding truth in another faith isn't even heresy or apostasy, believing such a vile and incorrect thing confirms the claimant is NOT practicing a religion at all.
That individual has NO sincerely held beliefs. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The theistic ones can be politheistic or monotheistic. Their gods are vastly different. They have different explanations on how the world was created or works, they can't all be true. Just like an exam, people get different answers right, and different answers wrong, the important thing is we don't take side of oppressors nor watch them as they oppress on the side lines doing nothing.
If the news is any indicator, there are far more religious people who defend their own religion, as above all others. ''Better'' than all others. I believe in God, but don't follow religion, per se. I think that religion tends to create a hive mentality, and limits people thinking for themselves. That doesn't mean though that I couldn't find some good in all religions, but when you look at them as a total religion, I don't know if there's any one religion I could entirely agree with. It's not uncommon for people to cherry pick what they like from religions, and just go from there.
Hive mind is the purpose of religion, another word for that is unity. The problem is no religion has unity because no one followed the recommendations by God to achieve the truth and unite on it.

You can be united about a decision for example, but hive mentality suggests that you might not agree necessarily with someone else, but you go along with it so you're part of the group. Or you're agreeing and you don't even know why you're agreeing. I'd say this is why indoctrinating kids at young ages is effective. Some think the Borg are futuristic Muslims with advanced technology.
If someone tries to convert you against your will simply tell them that all of your ancestors going back the past 100 generations were bastards so that all of their decendants are barred from entering the assembly of the Lord per Deuteronomy 23:2 (RSV) =
“No bastard shall enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord." Why do you suppose that is, MK? All religions have their truly devout followers. How come nobody gets it right?
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Because God doesn't force embracing his name, it happens to the degree of will and love we have towards God and his beautiful names. There is no rational reason though, we are being irrational. |
