Since I will be working the overnight shift at the nursing home, would it make me an alcoholic if I decided to drink at eight in the morning after I get off work?

In terms of mathematics, I'm considering three possible courses of action:
(1). Continue my self-study of elementary number theory with the goal of gaining a deeper understanding of the material and an appreciation for the subject matter too. (2). Do a self-study refresher on abstract algebra. I did a self-study of abstract algebra after I self-studied discrete math (I self-studied elementary linear algebra prior to discrete math), but I never felt that I truly got underneath some of the material toward the end of my self-study, such as homomorphisms, so doing a refresher in abstract algebra seems like it would be cool and interesting. (3) Acknowledge that I've gained an appreciation for higher level mathematics (especially after my self-study of real analysis) and call it quits. In my heart, I know that I lack the creativity, originality, and brilliance that is requisite to do something special in the mathematical domain. Currently, I'm leaning towards the first course of action with the second course of action close behind.
Saved a lizard from my cat last week, and this morning she kills one.
Deleting old FB posts I no longer want on my timeline.
Got a pot roast in the oven and am watching Criminal Minds with my kiddo.

This summer has been a fucking good one. Not a bit of rain for weeks now which is crazy for where I live in England. The downside is the amount of fires around that have started. Things are going good with my probably soon to be girlfriend who is also the mother of my daughter. We have had a lot of ups and downs and we seem to be on a very solid up at the moment. I've been getting closer and closer with my friends in work. England have been doing pretty good in the football, not that I care too much about it. I feel healthy and fresh.
I'm fully aware that just by stating all this stuff it probably means I'll get hit by a bus tomorrow but whatever, I'll take the risk. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. |
