RE: Life sized replica of noah's ark currently under construction
I've reported on this ark before here on the forums. I drive by it pretty much every week. Even though they have to fake a lot it is still pretty impressive to see.
Best regards,

The laws of physics don't do much to make a case for the ridiculous bible stories, and yet, without the laws of physics we would fly off into the vacuum of space and be no more.

That's why instead of saying "Thank God.." for something, I say "Thank gravity.." Smile

I love gravity. Not only does it keep my sunglasses on my face, but it also really keeps me grounded. Praise be to gravity... most of the time.

Wait till you get older and your knees start to ache, dear.

Then it will be "Fuck gravity."

And with steel barges so it floats and a steel frame so it doesn't fall apart.

Very authentic for the Early Bronze Age!

Maybe we should insist they pay more attemption to authenticity so it won't float and will fall apart.

None of it is even remotely possible.

I won't abuse the expression "it isn't remotely possible" by wasting it on anything biblic.

(September 15, 2011 at 2:26 pm)Ace Otana Wrote: The flood was most likely a much smaller and local one, but was hugely exaggerated. Noah may of been a normal farmer with a boat which he must of had available to him and for which he could quickly board his farm animals on. Not saving the fucking planet with a wooden ship that cannot possibly float due to it's size because wood can only handle so much. Not to mention all the other problems.

Quite simply, the so called 'global flood' never happened.

Why give biblical flood the totally undue benefit of believing it has some extremely tenuous connection to any actual specific event? If I said I was born out of a slit on the side of the Buddha would you look for any tenuous connection with a specific event to explain why I came up with the bullshit? Or would you just write it off as total bullshit?

It seems far more likely that some stone age masturbator simply ran away with vague and generalized knowledge that such a thing as water on occassions flow on land where water normally doesn't flow. There was no particular memory of any exceptionally large flood which can conceivably have specifically motivated the bullshit.

Well, at least they seem to have solved the question of actually getting it to London. Let's hope that all the modernised things he had to do to make the voyage makes some people think about the Noah's Ark story and its implausibilities.

Sort of reminds me of an "experiment" by Egyptologist Marc Lehner in which he planned to use "Egyptian" technology to cut an obelisk out of the ground, transport to a site some distance away and raise it on a pedestal.

First they found that pounding granite with dolomite hammer stones did not work well...or at least fast...so they brought in jackhammers. next they found they could move the fucking thing with sleds and ropes so they brought in backhoes and flatbed trucks. Then they raised it with ropes and congratulated themselves for doing it with "Egyptian" technology.

Were the jackhammers and trucks at least made in Egypt?
