Or perhaps, offer some "thoughts and prayers."
Ah, $12 billion is crumbs...when it comes from Trump.
It's welfare when it comes from the government. But there's nothing inherently wrong with that.

It's crumbs period compared to the damage nor is it a long term solution to America's need for Agricultural reform. And giving farmers a bailout for a problem he cause is like giving a steak to dog you have beaten and whipped .Don't believe me ask the farmers.

Ah, wealth redistribution handouts from trump to help a customary deadbeat constituency of the republicunts is not socialism but Christian. But if something is mandated to help the uninsured but productive get medical care, that is just socialism

Of course, he had a whole party of fucking morons pushing this through.... but it is working out pretty much like the Dems said it would!

Quote:Workers are shouldering a rising share of federal revenue, while tax payments by businesses are plunging toward record lows.
Treasury Department data for the first half of 2018 show individual income tax receipts rose 8.1%, to $915 billion. Corporate income tax receipts fell 32.4%, to $100 billion. The sharp decline in corporate tax revenue is largely a result of the tax cuts President Trump signed into law at the end of 2017, which cut the top corporate rate from 35% to 21%.
Fuck all republicunts.

Not to encourage the bastards, but given that a small increase in the individual tax contributions outweighs a larger reduction in the corporate revenue, maybe this isn't all that bad. But I suppose I don't have an opinion, as I don't pay taxes anyway.

The point is that the tax burden is falling more and more on those with the least ability to pay while the rich cocksuckers get a bonanza from the politicians they have purchased over the years. I'm sure those fucks consider it "return on investment."

I've been paying attention to politics since I was a teenager back in the 90's. Something about the GOP has had me extremely alarmed; I think I first noticed it with Bush, but in hindsight, I think there was some amount of it there earlier: the Republican party is anti-intellectual.
This isn't just saying they're stupid, because, truthfully, there are some intelligent republicans (they're few and far between). I mean that they distrust academia and intelligence and specificaly gravitate towards simplicity..... even when it's plain obvious that the situation is extremely complex.
Trump is only the latest itteration of this tendancy. He throws out simple answers to complex issues but keeps having one ridiculous incident after another so that the news media doesn't have time to focus on any of those issues with any significant complexity. So as long as his stupid behavior isn't just completely obvious, Trump is able to distract us before we realize how stupid he really is.
It's going to catch up with him, though. He's starting trade wars with most of the world and those don't tend to end well. When the economy slumps, which is coming, the president tends to take the blame. Unfortunately for the rest of us, when the economy slumps, the rest of the population will be the ones dealing with poverty and unemployment and low wages. I kinda hate that this is what we have to suffer through for the people to realize trickle down isn't working.

I saw a segment on the news that even farmers who are hurting because of the tariffs still support him. Not sure how representative that is. I see that and the tendency of Republicans to believe Trump over other sources of information as different from any anti-intellectual trend. A couple of things, beyond what you've mentioned. Trump has a lot of support from religious and conservatively religious voters, and they tend to be poorer, as well as significantly anti-intellectual. Also, as a mattter of values, conservatives are more group oriented and authoritarian oriented than the left, so they'll prefer in-group to out-group stronger than a hypothetical partisan of the left.
