The only upper body thing I can think of is rowing, but that's not gentle. There's an exercise that 's like swimming you can do on a weider ultimate bodyworks. I can't find a video. Maybe if you set it on a low enough incline it could be gentle and a cardio exercise. The Weider Ultimate Bodyworks is kind of like a Total Gym. It's this: There's another set of videos with a hot female, but I think those are actually featuring the older model of the same piece of equipment. Not even enough space for a small weights bench... though I'd love one; think that would help with the situps as well as it would be something to hold my feet in place. But I think I can roughly picture the sort of thing you're suggesting here and I'll bear it in mind in case I ever do get a suitable surface to try it from... it might even work.. with mods... just on an exercise mat... maybe That's not what I pictured by a home gym (just pictured the stereotype of one... more like the things in poca's picture) but looks really cool anyway, maybe even better; the sort of thing I like... simple but versatile... and it looks like you could pretty much use that as a rowing machine if you wanted, plus much more besides. So yeah, I'm definitely sold in theory... I want one But unfortunately it has a very large footprint, at least in terms of length so I wouldn't have space for it... or at least not for it to be out all the time. As it stands I have an exercise bike, a (manual) treadmill, and an exercise mat, but not enough space to have them all out at the same time. But if I ever do get more space I'll look out for it... cos it looks a really good bit of kit and looks like it does the sort of exercises I was hoping for, even saying that it was for a total body workout that didn't care so much about muscles than toning... an alternative to weights and a more expensive, weights based gym. So thanks for that RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore

But if you're talking space to use it, and not just store it, yeah that could be prohibitive. Actually telescoping is more accurate than folding.(July 27, 2018 at 9:02 am)The Industrial Atheist Wrote: The Weider Ultimate Bodyworks is kind of like a Total Gym. I lost 1.4 pounds but .6 of it was lean mass. Probably due to a cold and lackluster sleep. But anytime I can binge twice in a week and still lose weight, I'll take that.

So I finally bought a scale to measure my weight... it says 76kg... damn, that's too high. Need to lower that to 70.
Cycling every day doesn't do much, it seems... but that doesn't mean I'll stop doing it! I guess I should do some upper body exercises, too and maybe eat less desserts at work, where they have a bowl with some banoffee sponge cake which I can cover in custard until the bowl is properly filled... hehe. Anyway, new toy to keep track of stuff. I wonder what sort of weekly trend it will show me. RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore

Carb loading definitely has done the trick. By my scale I'm 8 lbs over worst case and even accouting for a difference in scales, I am certain I'll be good.
My wife got next Thursday off so she'll be able to come to my appointments in Seattle. If I can take Friday off we're going to make a weekend of it. My sister lives in north Seattle so lodging is free. RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore

Lost a bit more weight, and went under 100 kg (220 pounds) on Saturday and Sunday. Just above 220 right now.
My weighing-in method has been to record my weight every day right after getting out of bed, completely filling two sides of a small card, and then dumping the data into an Excel spreadsheet. I then average out the weight for the entire period (15-20 days, depending on how small I write on the card) and compare that to the previous average. There's a distinct downward trend, and I'm not discouraged by fluid fluctuations or other glitches. RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-May 3 to Whenever We're Not Fat Anymore
