Actually, yes. One local body rotation would still equal one day. Jupiter takes around ten Earth hours to rotates once on its axis, but that is still one Jovian day.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

It would be cool if religious apologists could see into a parallel dimension, where they were born into a different religious culture. They would see themselves making all the same arguments in defence of this other religion, and dismissing their current one without a second's thought.

But given that it is so wrong, why believe it at all, here it has it on the first act of creation.... It cannot precede the first day AND be done on the third day
You can't have it both ways, Genesis is a real mess it contains at least two different creation stories

Have you not considered that you're interpretation is wrong?
God is light.
Isaiah 60:19
Quote:The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory
Revelation 22:5
Quote:And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Revelation 21:23
Quote:And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
It clearly states in the beginning that the spirit of God moved over the face of the earth.
Now, do you still interpret 'light' as meaning the sun?
I've never heard anything so stupid, why if the lord is light would the bible describe days ? (as in dark sometimes and light others).
Why was there darkness with the sprit of the lord hovering above the waters?
Why if the lord is an everlasting light do we even need the sun and moon, why even create them ?
What was the earth in orbit round if the sun was created on the third day?
Your post stinks of desperation huggy, every extra you add simply leads to more and more questions you cannot answer, at least YEC's are honest about what they see the scripture say.
Just face it buggy no matter how you torture the meaning of the text it falls well short of any reality we know, simply put the bible is not a reliable source of information about anything to do with the formation of the earth. You are relying more and more heavily on pulling either the silence of the bible or quotes out of the Bible from different places in utter desperation to make things fit, this is not new however and happened a lot throughout the history of various sects of Christianity.

As for you question as to whether or not my interpretation could be wrong, the answer is that any interpretation of false information is by nature wrong.

Other books that are meant to be educational tend to have an introduction, where they explain the purpose of the book. They don't just start with some random magical story, and then continue with a garbled mess, expecting the reader to divine some sort of meaning from it all. God is the worst author I've ever seen.

Well, he's supposedly working through the medium of divine men. It would have been simpler, after all, to just fax the damn book down to us. God is supposedly all powerful, yet he can only work through certain fallible men? Seems rather suspect to me. The problem is that the more apologies theists make for this supposed god, the less like a god he seems.

First of all whatever laws you think need to apply are irrelevant when a supernatural being that can speak matter into existence (something science says is impossible) is introduced.
We all know it is impossible for a human being to survive without a brain, heart, or lungs, yet at the beginning of YOUR creation those things did not exist, they were formed LATER, something else sustained you until those things were put in place.
Humans need to breathe. If you had zero clue about how a human being came to exist (like you do about the universe), I'd suspect stating that you took you first breaths nine months after you were formed would sound just as impossible.

I'm simply letting the bible interpret itself.
Therefore you can't accuse me of making anything, up. Anything explanation given can be found directly in the bible.

God cannot be 'light'.
Says so in the bible.
Jeremiah 23 (KJV)
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.
God is everywhere, if God were light we would all see him all the time.
Can we please try to reign in the heresy a bit ??

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. - 1 John 1:5
I n the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God The same was in the beginning with God All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. - John 1:1-5
