Here's hoping that people see through that.

Justice, Spy World Veterans Warn Of Consequences If Trump Releases Secret Docs
Quote:"Basically you have a counter terrorism tool used to spy on a presidential campaign, which is unprecedented in our history," Trump tweeted in remarks quoting Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.
But FISA applications are prepared by career lawyers at the Justice Department and the FBI, supported by volumes of underlying evidence, and require signoff from high levels at both institutions.
The applications on Page, who was exposed to law enforcement scrutiny over his ties with Russia, were approved four different times — by political officials from administrations representing both Democrats and Republicans.
The signature of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on the final application — who was nominated by Trump and confirmed by the Republican Senate — has made Rosenstein a political target of conservatives.
Carrie Cordero, a former Justice Department national security lawyer who handled such applications, said she was "deeply concerned about the motivations and timing for this upcoming release."
"While transparency about intelligence community operations is important, the continued release of information related to the Russia investigation, the Carter Page FISAs and related materials appears to be for political purposes as we near midterm election," said Cordero, now a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security.
"That neither builds confidence in intelligence community activities nor enhances the nation's security."
The topmost Justice Department officials involved also privately object, according to one account.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., the ranking member of the House intelligence committee, said he had been "previously informed" by FBI Director Christopher Wray and Rosenstein that some of the materials Trump has ordered to be released amount to a "red line that must not be crossed as they may compromise sources and methods."
"This is evidently of no consequence to a president who cares about nothing about the country and everything about his narrow self-interest," Schiff said.

Quote:if you want more shootings, more death, then listen to the ACLU, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and groups who do not know the reality of policing
-Jefferson Butterbeans Sessions The Third.
Quote:Sessions spoke Wednesday during a gathering of state and local law enforcement officials in Illinois. His statement about the activist groups echoed a dubious claim that Sessions has made in the past about a consent decree entered into by the ACLU and the Chicago Police Department, which went into effect in 2016, that required increased review of the department's stop-and-frisk policy.
Citing a 2018 study by two researchers at the University of Utah, Sessions said Wednesday that the ACLU consent decree "allowed this bloodshed to take place."
While the homicide rate in Chicago did spike in 2016, Sessions' claim that it was caused by the consent decree has been largely debunked by fact checkers.
Sessions cited the same study in May, when he told police officers that "if you want crime to go up, let the ACLU run the police department." The Washington Post Fact Checker at the time rated the claim mostly false, noting that after agreements similar to the ACLU consent decree were reached in other cities — the Post cites Newark, New Jersey; Philadelphia, and Seattle — homicide rates actually fell in subsequent years.
"Attorney General Sessions essentially argues that police officers are too scared to do their jobs if they have oversight," Karen Sheley, ACLU of Illinois Police Practices Director, said in a statement.

I can see that. Since Jefferson Beauregard Sessions sees their main job as shooting niggers so they don't annoy racist shitballs like him.

It's to the point where I think a lot of people are just happy they're winning, and they've stopped caring how. What's most frustrating about that is how fundamentally it goes against what parents are supposed to teach their children.

The U.S. imports roughly the same as it exports to Canada. How exactly does Trump expect to win a trade war with Canada? ( see here)

"Drain the swamp? Hell, he is the swamp!"
Quote:Mike Pompeo declined to cut off the U.S. military’s support to a Saudi-led coalition in Yemen after learning that doing so could jeopardize $2 billion in weapons sales. His decision came despite objections from his own staff, the Wall Street Journal’s Dion Nissenbaum reports: “The move has fueled rising outrage in Congress, where a bipartisan group of lawmakers is trying to cut off American military aid for Saudi Arabia and the [UAE] in their three-year-old war against Iran-backed fighters in Yemen. More than 16,700 civilians have been killed or injured in Yemen, according to the [U.N.], which says the Gulf nation is home to the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. The U.S. is backing the Gulf allies in Yemen, where the Trump administration is working to contain Iran’s allies and al Qaeda militants. Mr. Pompeo overruled concerns from most of the State Department specialists involved in the debate who were worried about the rising civilian death toll in Yemen. Those who objected included specialists in the region and in military affairs. He sided with his legislative affairs team after they argued that suspending support could undercut plans to sell more than 120,000 precision-guided missiles to Saudi Arabia and the [UAE], according to a classified State Department memo.”

You gotta love the trumptards. Here's one sample (and all too typical) comment under a McClatchey report on Democrat options if they win the house in November.
Quote:Joe Clear
I pray you are right. I am retiring this year and I have made alot in my 401K. If the dems win, I will lose big time and the booming economy will start to fall again. I hope Republicans and Independents realize this is the most important midterm elections in our lifetime. I like the extra money I recieve every week in my check from the tax cuts. I like that my bonus was taxed less. I like that I have made as much in my 401K this year than my salary as well. I will also pay recieve more in my tax return as well.
Joe here are your idiocies:
1) the stock market is not the economy. In fact given what's happened over the last thirty years in corporate governance and oversight the stock market no longer bears any resemblance to the economy at all.
2) Joe do you know who's fucked over your pension all these years? Yes that's right it's the republitraitor party, they've removed pension protections, allowed companies and pensions advisors to go for the most risky options (in blatant disregard of the clients' needs), they've allowed the fattening of fees, they've allowed companies to not pay their share. All those things that make it harder for people to have a pension when they retire.
3) The extra money you receive from your tax cuts, unless you're a 1%er (and you're not, your pension wouldn't be a bare bones 401K) is at most a couple of hundred dollars (which your company will claw back in worse wages and longer hours anyway). To pay for the tax cuts Joe, the republitraitors have decided to cut thousands of dollars off your social protection entitlements, your childrens' schooling, your emergency hospitals your roads maintenance. You know the natives who sold Manhattan for a few glass beads got a better deal.
I can't get over the feeling that while this idiot is cheering on the republitraitors, they're behind his back stealing the food from his children's mouths.

Sadly, this isn't illegal, so long as there's a disclaimer on the inside. You'd think this type of obvious disingenuous crap would be illegal, but it's not. I'm sure they've decided this trick works often enough to be worth the loss of good will to people who see through it.
Snopes
"Ted Cruz’s Senate re-election campaign has been sending voters in Texas a fund-raising letter in an envelope labeled “summons enclosed,” drawing criticism from some who called it misleading and raising questions about whether such a practice was legal. It is.
That is according to Myles Martin, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, who said the salient question was whether a mailing contains a disclaimer saying that it came from a political campaign. And this one did.
Aside from that, he said in an email, “the F.E.C.’s regulations don’t speak to how candidates may choose to word particular solicitations to potential contributors.”"
