Humans make mistakes, and some of those mistakes are bigger than others. And as long as nobody dies from it, I think it is perfectly fine poke fun of an imperfect species.
Not being combative, just pointing out that I don't know how the piece broke so I'm not blaming the tech until I get better information.
I contrast this to the time I ordered a sailor to follow the tech manual when dismantling a pump. He failed to do so and did $23,000 in damage before admitting that he was "stuck". My stock response was "Show me the part of the manual you didn't understand."
