Ten Facts...
#81
RE: Ten Facts...

  1. I met John Gotti at my mother's third husband's place of business in Baltimore when I was 10 years old.
  2. I once owned a dog that weighed 195 pounds.
  3. My youngest daughter's middle name is the same as mine.
  4. I have 20 letters including a hyphen in my last name. It has it's own line on my driver's license.
  5. As a result of #4, my signature looks like a single capital letter. It's a legal signature.
  6. Over the last 23 years, I've lost 2 and a half inches in height.
  7. The first time I ever sung karaoke was in front of a crowd of 10,000 people at the Maryland State Fair in 1993.
  8. I quit smoking over 16 months ago.
  9. Two shows I will never get tired of watching are M.A.S.H. and The Big Bang Theory.
  10. I got licked by a giraffe at the Baltimore Zoo when I was six years old.

Oh shit, we can double down?

1. If I ever had a rock band, I'd name it "Unctuous Mouthfeel."  My previous choice was "Skinny Giblet and the so-called Highway of Death."  In either case, my stage name would be Harry Areola.  Yes, I've thought about this more than I should've
2. I don't like ham.  It smells (and I imagine tastes) like sweaty socks.  I love bacon, I'm okay with other forms of pork, but ham is gross
3. I have mild OCD, I think (never diagnosed).  In both this post and the last one, I removed all periods from the end of my items
4. I don't have a favorite color, but I have a favorite number.  It's 2.  1 just seems a bit too egotistical
5. I think I'm finally nearing completion of that e-commerce thing I've been working on forever... got a lot of work done the last few days
6. I almost (inadvertently) killed myself trying to impress my high school girlfriend back in the day.  Almost flipped my wheelchair off one of her friends' porch.  That's not a euphemism
7. I have 8 toes.  Was born with 10
8. Every Christmas season (like, from now until the holiday), I have to watch Rudolph and Santa's Coming To Town at least once.  I've always identified with Rudolph since he was the 'different' one, and with Santa... well, there's a part in the middle of the movie where Mickey Rooney apparently had enough shit, and just snarls a line.  It's hilarious
9. I hate Judge Judy
10. Despite being a huge Transformers fan (it was essentially my religion when I was a kid), I have never owned an Optimus Prime or Megatron (or Starscream).  I have no idea why

My great grandmother's middle name was Lee, my grandfather's middle name was Lee, my mother's middle name is Lee, my middle name is Lee, my sister's middle name is Lee...there seemed to be a lack of imagination in the naming department in my family.

Added to that my father's middle name was Leroy and my niece's name is Leah.  I made sure that nonsense stopped when I named my kids.   Cool

I did it because I cursed my oldest with two middle names. I didn't think this one would appreciate that.

A really bad car accident that my seat belt broke in. The guy who hit me was going twice the speed limit (60 in a 30), broadsided my vehicle from the right side causing me to bust out the driver's side window with my head, the impact spun my vehicle to the left, causing the momentum to make me bust out the passenger side window with my head. He then ass-ended me because the spin caused me to go the same direction that he was initially travelling in and then my car went up a curb and down into a ravine where I nearly went through the windshield. After that accident, they installed a red light at that intersection.

As a result, I have lived with seven herniated discs in my mid to lower back. I used to be 5' 6 1/2" tall. I'm now 5' 4" tall.

You can't see it but I'm grimacing for you.  You are very lucky to be alive .. especially if you're not in constant pain as a result of that.  If you're pain free now I hope you can stay that way as you age.  Some things have caught up to me - damned invulnerability feeling of youth!

Oh I wish I was pain free. Too many years spent eating ibuprofen like it was candy have taken a toll on my stomach. I can no longer take any Nsaids and Tylenol doesn't do shit. Bong seems to help some but I can't live my life stoned all the time.  I've been through physical therapy more times than I care to remember and there are days when my tens unit stays glued to my back ALL day. Being pregnant was the worst because of how curved my spine got with each month of getting bigger. I didn't think a 13 pound weight gain for the first one, was a big deal but my back sure let me know it. With the second one, I only gained 20 pounds but it was still hard to carry her without being in pain all the time.

My pelvis also ended up getting twisted somehow. One hip sits higher than the other. I'm 47. I walk like I'm 80. Cold weather kills me. Twisting my ankle three weeks ago didn't help any of this shit. Okay... enough whining about this.... I'm derailing this thread.
