It’s not about the difficulty of making the product. It’s about whether the baker is using creative input or following directions. Are you simply purchasing the bakers time and skill with food, or are you asking that he make aesthetic choices?

My line, which I seem to be working through, is that. If you come in with a drawing or photo and a list of parts, that is a commodity. If you ask the baker to design it for you, that is a creative product. Now yes, this means that the gay couple gets worse customer service than the straight couple, but people are assholes and I’m not sure I see a way around that.

Only I can place the pickles just right...I have an artistic eye for pickle placement. 

Now, I get it, you may think that this is ridiculous, but it's no more or less ridiculous than a guy who throws flour and sugar into a form pan and cranks out a pastry. Let's not kid ourselves, we both know that cake shops ingredients come prebagged and the ovens are purpose built. They have an assembly line too..it;s just good business. I crank out delicious bread and pies and cakes from scratch on a daily basis and I'm not exactly going to field some nonsense about how that makes me the vangogh of dough...but if we grant credence to that argument in one case and deny it in some other.........

Why do you care about other peoples sexual orientation? 
I am hetero sexual myself and think that the gays can do with each other what they will. Why shouldn't I? it is nothing to me. I have found that the only people who really worry about that sort of thing are the people, who for whatever, reason struggle with their own sexuality.

So why not just admit it, come on this is a safe place. you've seen it here. We are supportive of your kind.

Anywhoo...to the lucid human beings in the discussion, it's unlikely that scotus will change it's mind on their ruling, since they ruled that a persons religious beliefs can't be trashed by officers of the court.  

Nutbars like Max here think they ruled in favor of discrimination..but that's because he's a fucking nutbar.  Don't listen to our nutbars, they don't give you an accurate picture of murrican jurisprudence. It;s called a narrow ruling. They didn't want to deal with the worms falling out of nutbars heads..so they ruled on a procedural misstep (which, honestly, was still more than a little bit hinky..but they had to say -something-) and kicked the wider complaint back to the bowels of lower courts..where it's still winding it's way around like the turd that it is. It's got company, too. Theres this fun little (massive) organization that exploits bigoted bakers for profit..in an effort to legalize biblically sponsored discrimination. They rake in fat donor coin and shop for activist judges (you know, the kind that the right just haaate, lol) and then bitch and bitch and bitch that the predominatly christian judges are, themselves..somehow biased against christianity. The irony being that they make more lucre from losing than winning.

Go figure.

I have a gay coworker, he is quite open about it. Truth is he can feel the womens asses and play with them in ways it would be considering over the line if it was me. Since they know he is gay, I guess they play with him.

I am jealous, I cant feel a woman's ass without a slap on the face or worse, blue balls.

I don't overly concern myself with the sexual orientation of others.

If you and some random guy decided to sit on the dock and make out, it's your business, and no need for me to get involved and try to interfere with your romance.  If you and Charlie want me to bake a cake for your wedding, then I may be forced into considering your relationship a bit more, but my interest would be very limited in scope.
