If hell is real, two of the greatest friends I've ever had are there right now, and being tortured for eternity would actually be worth it to talk to them again. If I made it to heaven, could I request a transfer?

Just a question for minimalist, if you think your Anne Lamott quote applies to people who are christians, I would disagree. I would say it may apply to people who say they are christians, but have never loved god. 1 John 4:20 says "If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen"? If you think that god hates everyone you hate, clearly this person is not truly a christian, by their own standards. This is a perfect explaination of their behavior, in my opinion of course.

Yeah - L/P nailed it. You're giving us the No True Scotsman fallacy but no one died and gave you the right to determine what is or is not a xtian.
You see, I'm far more ecumenical than you. Anyone who thinks that a dead jew came back to life is a xtian in my book.

I can't wait until I die so I can go to hell and burn alongside my dearest friends.
I joke, of course, but I am not afraid of hell, because it most likely doesn't even exist. There are several different versions of hell from several different cultures/faiths, so what are the chances that when your father dies, he won't get sent to Naraka? Unless he is a good Hindu, he might.
Don't worry about it, sweetie. If your father wants to spend a lot of time worrying about what is going to happen to himself, and you, once you're dead, that's his waste of time. Just live every day like it's your last, and cherish this life, since it is the only life you know for sure you're getting.

Fixed that for you.

Some people claim to be christians that are not. A christian by defination is someone that believes in christ and the sacrifice that he made, as well as aksing forgiveness for our sins in prayer. A false christian, that is someone who does not fit that definition, like the people in your picture, do not have the love of christ in them. As it says in the scripture i quoted for you. Those people are simply not christians by defination.

Heaven is supposed to be a place of happiness. I get to see my loved ones, play a harp, bounce around the clouds and rejoice that I am in the presence of a god.
Let us examine this.
To see my loved ones, I must retain a memory of same. If I still have my memory then all the really fun things that I have and will do here on earth, will still be in my memory. Do I get a partial lobotomy to forget my 'earthly transgressions' while still retaining memory of my loved ones? If so, are those memories also 'pruned' of 'earthly transgressions'? If my memories are select, then what is the use of them or heaven? In other words, do we get brainwashed?
I stand by my original post. See ya' all in hell.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

Marriage is an earth bound law in Xtianity: "until death us do part" : by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. (Rom 7:2)
Just sayin' :S

Again, who gave you the right to decide? There a billion catholics who think you are full of shit. What do you say to them?
