Star Wars and Star Trek aren't documentaries.

And "Hot Tub Time Machine" is not a manual on time travel. Just ask Prof. Hulk. Hilarious

You mean "The Historical Documents"?

it would be animals, not intelligent life on exoplanets, intelligent like stiil would look life humans with cosmetic differences - much like star trek 1966 aliens.

Really?   The most intelligent life we humans know of certainly do not look like humans.

Yeah... are you joking, GGG? I can't tell.

If you aren't, what's your rationale for assuming intelligent life would have humanoid form?

I can ask same question,  what's your rationale for assuming intelligent life would not have humanoid form?

Because the evolutionary conditions on other planets may be far different from ours. It stands to reason that life that evolves on a planet that doesn't resemble earth will similarly not resemble earth life.

And even if it's an earth-like planet...

We evolved from apes who lived in trees. So we are lanky, we have hands that can grab branches, etc. We can't assume that all intelligent life MUST evolve from tree-dwelling species. And if they DON'T, then they will end up looking much differently than us-- that is to say-- not humanoid.

Well, if you're going to use TOS aliens as your template, what about the horta?  Looked nothing like a human, but was able to communicate in writing with humans, had a sense of history, and outwitted the humans hunting it.  Seems pretty intelligent.

Keep in mind that the real reason most 'Star Trek' aliens looked like humans with cosmetic differences is that they were humans wearing cosmetics.
