A replica needs a genuine article to replicate. Otherwise it is a prop.
According to the OED, a Replica is "An exact copy or model of something, especially one on a smaller scale." In this case, it would be a model, not a copy, but still falling under the definition of a replica as provided by the most authoritative dictionary of the English language out there.
