Ok Napoleon. I'll try to stay on track, although it's not looking good for Edgar, per Rhythm's last post......

Start whatever thread you want, I'd rather you did, than distract away from the purpose of this thread

I came across a news item titled: ''Top NASA Shuttle Astronaut: Aliens Real…I Guarantee It!'' http://www.veteranstoday.com/2011/10/04/...ent-374615
I thought it might be about Edgar Mitchell, but it's another guy called Clark C McClelland. I've just been on his web site to see if he has any connections to Edgar Mitchell. I found this :
http://www.stargate-chronicles.com/site/...cclelland/
If we assume that their claims are 'mistaken' to put it politely, why do people of their training and intelligence make this stuff up, or imagine it? It's weird. Unless of course, there's some truth to it? Nah, that would be too weird.......

How do you know they are intelligent? Position doesn't always dictate intellectual ability.

Cox.
My dad's girlfriend is in her 50's and has seen a bit of the world. She's a well-experienced lawyer, highly intelligent, good at her job and a go-getter. She's very matter of fact and grounded in evidence and reality.
Except she had a bout of sleep paralysis and is now scared off her rocker that there is a ghost in the house that she's lived in for YEARS because of one episode of hypnagogia, which I encourage you to wiki. The brain can trick you into thinking you really saw or felt or heard some extraordinary things.
Please lose this idea that just because someone is trained and intelligent, they are incapable of making mistakes, or succumbing to biases.

That's all well and good for one person, maybe two, but to be fair there are a LOT more people than that who are 'making up' these stories.

And if the stories where all the same we'd have less reason to wonder. They are not, either in the broad strokes or the particulars. Since you brought up the blatant frauds btw, it's amusing to note that aliens have a sort of trendy shift in appearance over time. Depending on where they say they're from (also follows trends).
