"Don't take away people's hope"

I don’t know what made the univers happen, I don’t even know if the question is valid.

Why would that take me to square-1 as a non believer.  Doesn’t have shit to do with gods.

Saying that something "doesn't exist" while it does exist is a very big claim.
Your problem is that you think about God in the traditional Anthropomorphism fashion: that God is a Jesus-like man or a Hindu Shiva; but I'm speaking about a different God that we can't even imagine, just like we can't even imagine how it was before the big bang.

(August 3, 2019 at 4:23 pm)Gae Bolga Wrote: People’s beliefs are our business.  There’s no necessity of politeness in describing reality.

I think that you might want to take this one up with the religious.  They consider their beliefs to be foundational to how they see themselves and how they interact with others.

Religion is politics.  Profoundly consequential.

I don’t distribute pamphlets or hit religious boards to de convert people.  That’s not my business.

People's beliefs are their own problem; actually the first step in dictatorship is the enforcing of your conclusions at others.

You can obviously imagine your god, lol. Since I see all gods for the anthro- they are, even people’s allegedly ineffable and unimaginable ones, it’s safe to say that I’m hearing anthro when you talk gods, yes.

Anywho, why would this take me to square-1, still wondering? You obviously thought your argument would have a much greater effect than it did.

If people’s beluefs are there own, why do they keep voting for their beliefs, why do they keep imposing their beliefs on their children, why do they employ their beliefs in interaction with others? It’s no secret that you would support a quranic state. Nor do you miss many opportunities to be a bigoted asshole for Islam.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You see; here's the problem: following Quran prevents you from being a bigot in the first place; it's enough of an evidence that the book clearly orders its followers to never enforce religion on anybody; and treat an eye for an eye unlike non Muslims who treat an eye for a head.

People's beliefs are chosen by them, Their own personal choice is essential for the idea they have in their minds to become a "belief".

If you can't imagine your god, how do you even comprehend its existence? That doesn't make sense.

Yes. It literally does:

Quote:Surah 2, The Quran:
Sahih International

(256) There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

In other words; Islam prohibits enforcing religion on anybody,

Yes. Matter in fact I can become an atheist right now, I already have family members who lost interest in Islam. But it's not logical, the Quran has more wise and realistic perspective of life.

There are lots of things in the universe that we can't imagine but we know it's right there; one example is "dark matter". Not that God is hiding, but that our sight cannot perceive him. It's an evidence of greatness and superiority; we can say God is there but he is "too great" to even describe.. we already have similar things in the universe called "dark matter".

We cannot see Dark Matter but we know it is there because we can infer its affects on the surrounding environment - we can't do that with the supernatural.

I’d love to test this theory if yours about being able to become an atheist right now, lol.

I think you should do that, try it for a week...then report back.

Religion and politics are merely the excuse humans make to control resources.
