As it turns out, quicksand is not the imminent danger I thought it would based on cartoons and TV I watched as a kid.

I was not aware of Jared Padalecki pre-Supernatural.
I just started watching Gilmore Girls, and wow. He's such a cute twink. I never would have thought of him as a twink, but he was.
Here's a parable I came up with last night:
Once, a man walked in on a pastor listening wistfully to a tape that was saying something in German. The man asked the pastor "what are you listening to?" He turned it off and told him "When I was a young lad, I met a mystic who claimed he found the meaning of life. I asked him to tell me, but he insisted on saying it in German. He said no other language could do it justice. So, I recorded him telling me. I don't speak German, but sometimes, I listen to it and I feel God washing over me." "What does it mean?" the man asked, but the pastor said "I don't speak German, I don't know how to copy tapes, and I was afraid that if I sent it off to a German speaker to translate it, I'd never get it back, so I don't really know." So, he played it again and recorded it on his phone. He sent the file to Frau Schultz, a German teacher at a local community college. She was shocked when she listened to it, and she was reluctant to transcribe the whole thing, but she did send him the first two sentences: "So, this family walks into a talent agency. It's a mother, father, son, daughter, baby, and their Chocolate Lab."

I was born with the gift of laughter and a sense the world is mad.
Just Curious. What does a nun have to do to get the arse?
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
An uninteresting problem can be made more interesting by simply refering to it as a humdrum conundrum.....
Why is it impossible for a woman to ruin a cardigan by shrinking it in a tumble dryer? But for a man it's a piece of cake.

Many moons ago, my wife left a load of laundry in the washer and went to work. Not being especially fond of the stench of mildew, I ran that batch through the dryer. While she may be a doll, she definitely can't wear doll clothes.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

But for a man it's a piece of cake. My husband learned years ago that it was safer for him not to wash my work shirts, sweaters, and slacks. T-shirts and jeans and other things aren't a problem. He will fold my stuff if he gets to the dryer first but since I wash most of my shirts inside out he folds them that way. The reason - he's a lot bigger than I am and he doesn't want to stretch out sleeves. It's good to learn your limitations.

When my son was in Little League I thought it would be a good idea to bleach his white uniform pants to help get the grass stains and red clay stains out of them. As it turns out, that sort of fabric turns a lovely shade of pink when bleached...my son was not amused. Ooops - lesson learned. |
