"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

Dammit.
Now I'm resisting typing "News @Eleven"! Wait. No I'm not! Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???"
Brokens moronic greatest hits
Quote:The people who do not learn and who do not turn to God are doomed to chasing after drugs, sex, money, health, status, accomplishments and other things in an effort to fill a void that God is meant to fill--then they die.Nah they live their lives and unlike theists don't have a hole that needs filling and all the above is part of life . Quote:When you don't have God at the center of your life, then money, sex, status, etc., become your gods.Nope you have no gods you simply have list of stuff you do Quote:There's no doubt in my mind that there are people whose hearts have been so hardened that they do not feel any pull from God and are left with entertaining themselves until they die. You seem to be one of these people.Nope there are people who have no reason to believe and don't pull that isn't there and they are not left they live Quote:People who do not feel any pull from God or who have suppressed God's prompting to such a degree that they no longer feel it are guilty of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which is the unforgivable sin.None of the above you can't suepress what isn't there nor should anyone feel guilt about mocking imagination Quote:Happiness is vaporous and fleeting.Only in the opinion of those who wish to be miserable and enshrine their misery Quote:You do believe God exists, don't you? You're just angry at Him and don't understand.Neither Quote:This life isn't about finding happiness. It's about finding out whether or not you're on God's side. It's a pilgrimage.Nope it's about happiness and this pilgrimage you believe in is chasing windmills Quote: That's why God doesn't heal amputees and why He doesn't give you a million dollars. He isn't a magician or a genie. And I doubt you'd respect Him more if He took on such roles. I suspect that you'd respect Him less if He did. So he's a dick who's obsessed with respect ,And none of that answers the question . Quote:I apologize for the ugly things I've said to you and the other posters on this forum. But if you're interested in your true purpose, then you must turn to God.Your not sorry and no we will not talk to the air Quote:False. Then he's kind of a dick Quote:Like I wrote previously, I don't think the purpose of life in this world is happiness, so I don't view cancer or natural disasters in the same way that you do. I believe we're put in situations that maximize our chances of turning to God.Then your a sick person Quote:I don't think God zaps people dead or gives them cancer. The chaos and corruption that we see in the world probably has more to do with God keeping Himself at arm's length from His creation because of the sins of mankind. It may even be the case that God is using this corruption and chaos to draw people closer to Him.Then your gods a monster and so are you Quote:To me a maximally great world would be one that brings the most people into a saving relationship with God and I believe we are in such a world.More proof of just how fucked up you are

@SUNGULA if u don’t think u have a hole that needs filling then u are simply not looking deep enough. We all have holes to fill ( I’ll ignore the next 4 dirty mind posts) just as we all have biases. Some fill it with God, some fill it with other things. Lack of contentment is a feature not a bug.

We know that filling those holes with things such as drugs, alcohol, god, over-eating, promiscuous sex is not healthy.
