People who are deists, theists or pantheists or even agnostics to some degree tend to be more open minded. So it just doesnt seem like there is any point to debate atheists about religion in same way there is no point debating a marxist of the benefits of capitalism
First of all, a raging boner for capitalism and atheism are not mutually exclusive. Just read some Ayn Rand for proof of that.
Second, just because atheism and socialism are similar or have similar effects on one’s ability does not mean they’re the same thing. If I had a friend and I likened the way he behaves to a cat, does this mean he was a cat all along?
Third, since atheism is merely a position on a single issue and socialism is a spectrum of ideology that covers a lot of ground (from the sort of Social Democracy you take for granted in Western Europe to full-on totalitarian Marxism), there’s a lot of debate to be had on either issue.
Fourth, the line between atheist and agnostic is a lot more permeable than a lot of theists assume. in fact, the vast majority of atheists are, in practice, agnostic atheists, people who don’t know for sure whether or not there is a god, but, in practice, work under the assumption that there isn’t one.
Finally, did you just go to all the trouble of registering for this forum just so you could claim that there was no point in debating us?
