Take a nap.

Still not getting it. My OP is not so much about Grant, as it is about the DOJ policy of not indicting a sitting President.

If Grant is willing to pay a speeding ticket fine without trying to bribe a cop, certainly Trump's behavior is way beyond a speeding ticket because he IS trying to bribe and or intimidate officials.

The DOJ policy isn't even a law, but a recommendation. That recommendation was not written in any part of the Constitution, not even as an amendment.

What is in the Constitution is the ability to impeach, and even the 25th Amendment.

Yes, a speeding ticket isn't a matter of national security. Never claimed it was, or should be. But Grant admitted his offense on something minor and didn't blame the cop for doing his job. Trump lies about everything even if small, and has lied about everything big too, and that makes him dangerous. Not because he won't leave office, he will. But his behavior while he was running and in office, sets a very dangerous long term tone for politics even after he leaves.

The next president that wants to do the same, but is not as bombastic, and is low key, is going to be far more dangerous.

Is this just another rant, or do you have a solution? Trump isn’t going to be indicted even if the rule was changed today. Trump isn’t going to be impeached this late in the game (and even if he were, the outcome would be depressingly familiar). He isn’t going to be 25th-ed, because his Cabinet is perversely loyal to him.

Sure, we show up...but...sometimes.......we wonder whether it makes sense to pursue speeding violations. I wonder, for example, whether south carolina's traffic laws "make sense". I'm just saying that there are some places in the world where 100mph is reasonable speed. Im tryin to get through this motherfucker.

Of course it is a rant. But an important "rant" that even 50 former Republican intel agents put in a letter warning America not to elect him, when he was running the first time.

I don't know what the solution is. I admit that. I do know that Trump is setting a very dangerous tone, even after he leaves. It is more a warning than anything.

But the good part of history, is that America has been tested before, and almost broken in the Civil War. I guess my solution isn't about a cure all law, but a long term attitude of vigilance and participation.

In that hour long phone call Trump said to the GA Sec, "You should want an accurate election" and the Sec said, " I believe we had one",  Trump without missing a beat said, "No you dont".

Ok, so he is accusing a member of his own party of lying, a GA Secretary of State whom voted for him and donated money to his first run of being a party to fraud.

For someone who claims I can't use google properly there is this.

You don't have to take my word for it. But take your pick from this google search list.

No, I completely believe you about the letter - I have no doubt at all that it’s real. I’m just shocked that this is the first time you’ve brought it up.
