It doesn’t much matter what one puts on a pizza - ham, pineapple, the Times colour supplement. None of it makes a difference. All pizza is awful. Pizza is the suppurating boil on the buttocks of the culinary world. It is the bagpipe music of food. If pizza were an actor, it would be Keanu Reeves. Sausage and anchovies is my favorite pizza.  It's my favorite Calzone, too.  Getting good sausage and anchovy pizza can be expensive though as many pizza parlors don't carry anchovies.

I don't like anchovies. I get sick simply smelling them. But, if you like them, have at it. 

In fact if I owned a pizza joint, I damned sure would sell anchovies. Why, not because I like them, but because it would make me money.

I once went to an Italian bestro locally with my mother years ago. I saw steak on the menue, but it came with some spaghetti like noodles and mushrooms as a topping. I asked the owner who took the order to leave out the mushrooms since I don't like them, and he looked at me like I murdered his family. But worse than that, I asked him if he had some sort of steak sauce, and agian, he looked at me like I murdered his family. I didn't raise a stink because I was with my mom and wanted to enjoy my time with her. But in the entire time I was thinking, "Hey asshole, I am paying you money, and you are not the one eating the food, I am, do you want my money or not?"

Needless to say we never went back. It is one thing to express an opinion, it is quite another to act as if your opinion is law. If the guy had simply smiled and said "we don't have this", that would have been one thing. 

Trust me Boru, I am not "butthurt". I simply don't like taste being confused with criticism. You were not criticising anything. If bagpipes were like covid, nobody would play them. I don't like bagpipes either, but they do exist, just like caviar, which I don't like either. So all I can say is I don't like something.

And I’ve already said that people who like pizza should eat pizza, and that it’s none of my business what other people eat. I don’t know how you can’t understand that.

I had pizza in Astralia, it really is completely differnt. And if you ask for chicken wings there, you get the entire adult  wing. Ask for a "hamberger" you litterally get ham.

To me, though, a good cut of beef looses appeal when prepared with tomato.  Just put the tomato on the salad and don't overthink the steak.  Which is why when the family picks Italian, I struggle with both menu and beer selection.

OP: I love pineapple on pizza... and not just ham and pineapple; onions, peppers, and pineapple.

Pineapples are especially good on veggie pizzas (especially with onions).

On Anchovies: Those things are super nasty. I want to throw up just at the thought of consuming one. 

I once had a friend offer me a slice, noting that I could "pick off the anchovies"... but no. That pizza had anchovies on it. It's tainted. Not fit for consumption.
