Things you miss from your childhood.

For example. I actually do miss rotary phones and spinning the dial to complete the phone number. I also miss talking to real humans once I dial the number.
I also miss the game "Simon" which frustrated the shit out of me. I loved "Rockem Sockem Robots", and my "Crash/Smash em up" derby.
And even more recently, I miss having a land phone, one with a cord. Still not impossible, but I cant take my land phone out with me.
What do you miss from your youth/ early 20s, whatever. Something that was common back then, that has gone virtually exinct?

I was never really one for nostalgia.

center of attention, no responsibility.
right now I am less visible than air, more worthless than dirt, except for the values I am compel to supply out of responsibility that I am not permitted to shirk.

almost everything, including not having to work at a soul-crushing career.
If The Flintstones have taught us anything, it's that pelicans can be used to mix cement.

Youth.

Not so much a thing but time spent at the farm with my paternal grandparents...in a rocky childhood, that was always a place of happiness and wonder for me. And though a lot of people thought grandma and grandpa were grumpy and unpleasant to be around...they were two of my favorite people. They are long gone and the farm is gone too. Chopped up into a subdivision and parts absorbed into other farms so there's not even a place to go back to.
The other was the very little time I spent with my maternal grandfather. We lived far apart so it was only about every other year that I saw him...maybe 8 or 10 times in my life after the age of 2...but he was a character and we had a mutual adoration for one another. From playing checkers and croquet to going deep sea fishing, it was always an adventure with him.
I wish my kids could have experienced some of those times.
