My bad. Rip means Rest In Peace in my vernacular and it is usually a form of hope your journey is a peaceful. Seeing as u r atheist it’s no surprise that it’s just a term for recently dead people as u generally don’t believe in an afterlife. I would have expected a more clinical name like “recently departed” or “died today” but I’m just interpreting wrongly as in loving memory due to my bias
