America and the West have created more global wealth in the developing and third world than has ever existed. It's hell produced more global wealth and prosperity than your goat herder religion.

Oh look.
The final picture showing the wonderful destruction of former national icons and historic treasures.
Nice.

Once again Winter
And Canada is more Beautiful than Afghanistan will ever be and it has added the bonus of not being a shithole ruled by a band of thugs who blow up monuments because it offends their religion and toss acid in girls' faces for learning how to read. The only people who have reaped what that sowed is the country that let the Taliban take it over
Look at all that TRUE beauty and not a lunatic religious fundamentalist insight
Look women are being allowed to dress how they please and not have a bunch of lunatic misogynists with small dicks try and murder them over it.
Look a musician who isn't being carted off to jailed or being murdered by the Taliban
Look a sports field being used for sports rather then to murder people for not following iron age bullshit
Look a news broadcaster who can do their job without a group of armed thugs looming behind them and Women at that. Meanwhile in Afghanistan

Is this guy for real?

He is real, it's just that you don't understand what you read. Nixon ended The Bretton Woods system
Quote:World War I effectively ended the real international gold standard. Most belligerent nations suspended the free convertibility of gold. The United States, even after its entry into the war, maintained convertibility but embargoed gold exports. For a few years after the end of the war, most countries had inconvertible national paper standards—inconvertible in that paper money was not convertible into gold or silver. The exchange rate between any two currencies was a market rate that fluctuated from time to time.
...
The Bretton Woods system of fixed exchange rates appeared doomed. Governments and central banks tried for years to find a way to extend its life, but they could not agree on a solution. The end came on Aug. 15, 1971, when Pres. Richard M. Nixon announced that the United States would no longer sell gold.

My vote is for Canada.

Yes, Afghanistan has some absolutely beautiful scenery.
Now, if we could only get the *people* to allow for basic freedoms.
An Afghanistan that would allow for artistic and intellectual freedom, that would allow and encourage education and careers for woman as well as men, that would allow and encourage people to be themselves as opposed to a grotesque parody produced by a backwards tribalism, THAT would be an Afghanistan would celebrating.
Nobody is saying that the West is perfect. It has many, many flaws and ignores many, many problems. But in terms of overall happiness and personal fulfillment, there is no comparison between Western ideals and those of the Taliban.

So beautiful, so stunning, so breathtaking.
Yea, but there is there's something called "taste" even on topography. I personally can like looking up at mountains, but I am shit scared of heights, so I don't like being in high places. However, I love the ocean, not in all conditions, but mostly in calm sunny days. I cant get over how big water is. If you want me to admire high piles of rock and plate tectonics and dirt and height. Yea, I get it, I just don't want to be on it, or near it. I'd take a calm ocean on a sunny day 5 billion times over high cliffs.
