Or, in other words, “no.”

So…you came here to give us a lesson in logic and you can’t even present a logical argument for your stated position? The reason you made this thread?

How embarrassing. 😬

I’m not going to school anybody here, I just wanted to show that there’s some confusion among you on definitions and that there are many interpretations in your church. Smile

This is true, but this is not allowed for the dictionary definition of an atheist. Their definition allows them to only say “I don’t know”.

In this topic I’d like to discuss some definitions and where this leads you as a person.

Can you please describe what and where you are in a belief system? Or no belief system? Or lack of belief?

Once you’ve answered that, can you please answer the following: What can you tell me about souls and the existence of an afterlife?

Thank you.

*Bold mine*

What can you tell us, that you can show evidence for that is ?

I don’t have any evidence for this and as I mentioned if anybody did, than humanity would not have this eternal debate. This isn’t about evidence it’s about definitions of words and staying true to those definitions. You wanna answer my questions?

@GaryAnderson

Pot, kettle, and all that.

Folks have spent some time now trying to help you out of your cloud of confusion. You don’t seem interested, lol.

Lazy trolls are obvious. *yawn*

This thread has become Gary's mental Jerkoff .
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

If this thread is any indication about your confused thinking, I am not sure I want to see anything you have to say about the sciences.

But hell, I must be a glutton for punishment.

I'll see what random internet, muddled thinking, poor use of logic, guy has to say about science...

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

You suspect Helios doesn't know his own reasons for not believing or is lying about

No. I am suggesting that Helios presented an opinion on a complex topic as if it were a settled fact. At the same time, I am also noting that as a general rule the evidence offered by a theist will not meet the evidentiary standard for an atheist. Again, this is a difference of opinion, not a character flaw or lack of intelligence on anyone's part.
