Apparently the judge dismissed the charge of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18 this morning before going over 36 pages of instructions for considering self defense with the jury.

That was fucking astounding to me. I swear this judge was acting more like a defense lawyer than a judge. 

What fucking business does a kid have to possess a firearm  of any kind? What is next, let 5 year olds drink beer?

I'm hopping for a hung jury and retrial, with a new judge. This one was a cluster.

If I was the prosecutor, listening to the "Jury instructions" I would have demanded a mistrial. This judge is as bad as all the TV shows.

The judge has been totally biased throughout this whole trial so it doesn't surprise me he gives Shittenhouse another freebie. He might as well just join the defense.

This is legitimately reminding me of Hitler's trial after the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923. Admittedly, Rittenhouse hasn't admitted that he came to Kenosha to fuck shit up, and he hasn't been given a huge platform to air his beliefs (although he has been cross-examined, and it's a legitimately risky move to submit your defendant to cross-examination even if the client is 100% innocent because the prosecution can still find ways to trip you up and make you look guilty even if you're not), but the judiciary were shockingly sympathetic to the defendants to the point where the only reason he got punished at all was because one of the judges in the trial had to remind the others "Um, Guys, the defendant has flat-out admitted he planned to overthrow the Weimar Republic. Finding him not guilty would be fucking insane." And eventually, he was sentenced to one year in prison, which basically turned out to be closer to a writer's retreat than an actual prison sentence.

When the judge declares that those shot were "rioters and looters" but not "victims", the jury has to find not-guilty. Rioters are bad guys, and that makes Rittenhouse the good guy.
