Also I'm finding the DogTV recommended video to be extremely soothing.

Inspired by this video:
I've come up with an interesting idea involving a few spare parts. It's basically the 2x4 guitar that Jim made in the middle of the video, but instead of using the electronics of a Telecaster, I'm thinking maybe making it like a Rickenbacker 12-string:
- A 12-string neck for a guitar (scale length 24 3/4"), to go into...
- A 2x4, any wood will do, but maple is preferred, just about long enough to hold...
- A toaster pickup (maybe two), and a 250k volume knob (two if I decide to use two pickups).
Maybe add a few interesting little nods to its original inspiration, like vintage-style tuners (probably the best I can get, since the odds of getting a spare official Rickenbacker neck are slim to none), a Rickenbacker nut (the string configuration of the Rickenbacker is unique, with the bass string on the left side of each course, a reversal of every other 12-string design), Pyramid strings (supposedly the kind the Beatles used), MXR style Knob(s), a little half-assed red sunburst on the edges of the 2x4 body.
Why the Ric? Well, this video and the fact that there's bugger-all in the way of good, cheap, versions of it should answer that question:
Some of the parts might be difficult to acquire, particularly the nut and a version of the toaster pickup that's fully up to vintage spec, but otherwise, if we can pull it off, it will probably be the best down-and-dirty Rickenbacker the world has ever seen. And, on the off-chance that I can get Dhani Harrison to measure the pickup height of his Dad's old Ric, it will be perfect.
That said, we're in the midst of an ES-335 kit, so this might get on the back burner.

This is really such a fair, wonderful world we live in, isn't it? When a guy with a good sense of humor and good taste in music can't get a date to save his life? And how about those professional mind doctors, huh? Changing my diagnosis and claiming I need to be on a higher dose of medication than I'm currently on? I feel like humanity is just bulldozing me up the ass with hot coals.

Really? I was always led to believe that gay guys had it very easy to get a date. I mean, don't some gay bars already have rooms where gays just have sex without even introducing?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
