My kids used to be sure to leave one ice cube in the tray so they could honestly say they didn't use 'all' the ice.  

In their defense...had they filled the tray most of the water would have ended up on the floor.

I've become quite fond of the ice maker in our fridge.

Our current frige - 30 year old - doe not have an ice maker.

But I plan on getting one - so - when I re- did the plumbing during our bathroom rebuild - I ran a cold water line for an ice maker. ( and to fill the water pan on the woodstove for humidity during the winter)

Always plan ahead.
