They can make great additions to the family. Pops, the hound in my avatar, will be 12 in July. He was adopted 8 years ago with a broken hock he got on the track. His health is slowly failing but for now he is happy and doesn’t seem to be in too much pain.
I’ll miss him very much when he’s gone.

Let me see if I can think of a stupid question an atheist would ask or a question that Christians would think is stupid:
1) Why did your deity need to be born of a virgin and die on a cross in order to forgive humans of their sins?
I don't think this question is stupid, but I think to most Christians, or just the Christians that took the time to think about the question, the answer is so simple that the question seems stupid to them. The answer is *drum roll* "Our feeeeble minds cannot know the infinitely complex mind of God"

What's up with Jesus and a shotgun?
Yeah, my avatar causes some confusion, when it doesn't get banned which has happened on some sites. I have had it about a decade, to cut a long story short, it was created by a satanist it depicts in an icon form, Christ as a Asiatic gangster. It was created to offend Christians, I am a Christian I am not offended by it. I will tell you why, I see something in it he did not intend. Art is open to interpretation, what I see in it is 2000 years of fighting evil, this guy has seen it all, all the cruelty that man can do, heard all the bullshit excuses. You cannot fool this guy, or shock him, or make him quit. When my time comes to walk in shadow, that's the kind of guy I want on my side.

That's not a stupid question, that's a good question, I like that question.
Understand this is just Hoptoads take on it and Hoptoad can be wrong, as I am sure someone will point out.
If it hadn't been a virgin birth, it wouldn't have been his son, it would have been someone else's son. That's important in relation to the covenant, the deal. The first big one involving Abraham and his son that God started then stopped so the kid didn't have to die.
The last covenant is the big one, the kingdom deal. This time God puts himself on the line, his son part of himself.
Why a cross, that's what the Romans used. It was on a hill in plain sight, in public done by the Romans who knew all about death, it was entertainment to them, Christ was killed by experts.
Three days later he is up and about again, the kid didn't have to die, but he did. Deaths an illusion just a change we go through.
The deals done, the Kingdom comes, it is not here yet but it's coming. So many of the thing Christ spoke of are part of our society now equality, tolerance, even our leaders are supposed to be our servants. Like I say it's not here yet, long way to go yet.
Dies for our sins, Christ never said that, the apostle's go on about it most of them where Jewish originally, it's mixed up with Jewish law. Christ did mention the covenant though at the last supper.

I find that picture disturbing. A zombie weilding a shotgun is an awful concept to someone like me.

If the fictional character Jesus would have lived his fictional life in more recent times, some idiot may have attributed this saying to him:
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on Earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a shotgun." Matthew 10:34
"If there are gaps they are in our knowledge, not in things themselves." Chapman Cohen
"Shit-apples don't fall far from the shit-tree, Randy." Mr. Lahey
