The United States

For these reasons, the United States has voted against each new version of this resolution since 2005 and is, again, compelled to vote “No” on this resolution, and calls on other States to do the same.

So in other words what Russia has already been doing for months before Ukraine blew up the bridge. It's almost as if Russia is going to kill innocent people regardless of what Ukraine does.......

Blowing up a bridge is a way to try to stop, or slow, movement between place A and place B. Seems a sound military move even if the disruption in travel lasted only a short time.

Blowing up hospitals, old folks' homes, daycare centers, etc. is shooting fish in a barrel.

Taking out, slowing, or stopping a potential threat vs. blowing up what can't hurt you....hmmm....seems there are now two solid contenders here on the forum vying for the top spot of people who are adding to the conspiracy theories and contributing nothing of value to the conversation. Funny that both think they are the smartest in the room.

I’m not sure how the ‘alliance’ with Belarus is going to change anything. Their military forces consist largely of short-term conscript troops and outdated Soviet-era equipment. The most this will do is to make Russia minimally less outgunned by NATO.

Belarus has never not been a Soviet/Russian client state.

Because the resolution was put forward by Russia as a justification for its annexation of Crimea. Abstaining signals that you can be anti-Nazi and also be unwilling to support a cynical Russia ploy to legitimize its land grab.

You’re forever yammering that atheists don’t get their facts right when it comes to religion. Maybe you should hold yourself to a higher standard of fact checking when it comes to geopolitics.

I see that you are a senior member of this forum and that you are here since 2018. As a new member I would not like to offend you but I must say that you just scarred me a little.
The issue is this: I live in a country where the ruling populist / nationalist / islamist party has very close ties with this Mr. Putin. So although I have the habit of turning off local news stations whenever or wherever I hear them, by talking to the ordinary people, I know what the mainstream media says. What the mainstream media says is usually the same with the Russian propaganda in Moscow Journals and televisions.
Some of the things you just said are direct quotations from the alternate reality that the Russian propaganda is creating. I said “alternate reality” because that’s exactly what it is. This is the propaganda machine that claims that the objective of Putin was to remove “Nazis” (Like in Wolwenstein 4D Nazis) and “drug addicts” (I still couldn’t figure out this one) from power in Ukraine.
So you may have your ideas. But if you are not the lower layers of the Russian population who is being permanently exposed to these incoherent lies (or the average Turkish middle class male population whose political support is no different than the support of Chelsea fans to their soccer clubs) how can you even believe a tiny bit of that information?
I don’t know if I understood you correctly. But if I did, I think I don’t even to answer any of this. Without willing to be disrespectful: How could you expect anyone to believe any of this? This is a QAnnon theory. This is the Election Campaign of Marine Lepen or the emigration policy of Georgia Meloni, this is Donald Trump’s speech to the far-right in Spain via skype or youtube.
