In the 19th century United States it was common for human beings to die after a few dozen lashes. I can only assume that 100 lashes will be a Weekend & Holiday occurrence over the course of a few months? Perhaps one of our Islamic board members can enlighten us here on this one?

99 times out of a hundred the Heil would be in favour of this punishment.

Does anyone here believe that the US will win the World Cup? Or, am I, once again, wasting my time on yet another fanciful pursuit?

The USA is proverbially bad at soccer, and watching a little bit of the world cup it seems that soccer players are small and skinny and almost like performing a ballet, while American culture is more about being bulky and big.
As I said, the USA is considered to be so bad that when the US team did beat England once many decades ago by 1:0, some newspapers thought that the guy at the telegraph office made a mistake because the US could certainly never be better than England, so they published that the result was 10 to 1 for England, and later learned that they made a mistake.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I thought that the US would surely lose to powerhouse England; it must be a complete embarrassment to them to have had a draw! No doubt the Iranians will be gloating ear-to-ear if they win tomorrow.

It would be nice if the US wins since it is nice to see underdogs winning, and it would spin the heads of people around the world.

The US has, of course, never won a World Cup, and, so, hopefully, this time will be it! Question is, "What will Donald Trump say?" If they lose, it is, of course, Biden’s fault; a victory, on the other hand, was due to Trump's conservative judicial appointments.

Not only that, but the players comforted Iranian players who cried after the game.

When they get back home, they will probably be charged with "lascivious acts" or something stupid.
