I came here to say this.
Nay_Sayer: “Nothing is impossible if you dream big enough, or in this case, nothing is impossible if you use a barrel of KY Jelly and a miniature horse.”

Wow. Finally, a socialist that admits Capitalism works, and that a mixture of Socialism and Capitalism doesn't work.

Kudos to you sir.

Capitalism will work at least until it doesn't, that is, until it has exhausted all of the ancient sunlight stored in fossil fuels. At that time everyone will wonder why socialism did not come sooner.

And you think socialism does not use fossil fuels? What makes you think that?

A lot of people are claiming their political system will result in less environment destruction or less animal abuse, but one who claims those things has a huge burden of proof.

Overall, socialistic societies, per capita, have a lower carbon footprint. When all the ancient sunlight has been consumed, socialistic societies will be better structured to deal with the ensuing chaos.

Actually, the economic freedom index is correlated negatively with things like air pollution and carbon footprint. People in less free countries tend to heat up their homes by burning wood or coal, both of which are way more polluting than natural gas.

Why are you equating 'socialistic societies' with 'less free countries'? Socialism does not - and never has - necessarily entailed a diminishment of personal freedom.

I was interested to learn recently that electronics giant Huawei is socialist -- it is wholly owned by its employees. Its founder has only a 1.7% share.

This is one of the reasons the US has been working to block them through unfair trade practices -- for example imprisoning their CFO on bogus charges. It's because the US doesn't like it when the workers make the profits, rather than Wall Street investment types.

The other reason is that the US spy agencies want back door access to all electronic communications (as Edward Snowden revealed) and Huawei doesn't play along.
