The Absurd GOP
RE: The Absurd GOP
More white welfare. That's not really new or surprising. The entire business of the us gov in rural areas is and has historically been to transfer wealth to white landowners. The irs is in on it, the usda does it, the fsa does it. In fairness, they've recently acknowledged as much and tried to put together programs so that benefits, subsidies, tax breaks, and debt collection protection is more inclusive..but they can't really change the past or the current demographic realities of those areas so it's not going to do much, if anything.

Still, that extra % isn't much... and it might actually be better to view this as a way, sure, to put more money into the right sorts of peoples hands...but predominantly as a part of starving governments of revenue. Remember, the gop is a nihilistic death cult. Their thoughts on government is that there shouldn't be one.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Things in this country are about to get real bad, real fast.

Anti-woke, after all, is mere white supremacy.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

And you can’t be one of those millions and millions of anti-abortion patriots who are falling all over each other in a mad rush to adopt children of colour.*

Saw that too.  That would have meant my husband and I wouldn't be able to take advantage as the kids are mine, not his, even though we have been married since my youngest was four years old.

South Carolina Republicans have introduced a bill that would allow women to be executed if they have an abortion. The bill is also vague enough to potentially include miscarriages.

One woman was already arrested there because she took pills to terminate.

DeSantis Appointee On The Dangers Of Tap Water

Quote:A man appointed to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' Disney oversight board has a history of making anti-LGBTQ comments, including a claim that tap water could be turning people gay, CNN reported.

Quote:In a January 2022 Zoom call, Ron Peri asked, “So why are there homosexuals today?"

"There are any number of reasons, you know, that are given. Some would say the increase in estrogen in our societies. You know, there’s estrogen in the water from birth control pills. They can’t get it out,” Peri said.
