Boru Not trying to nitpick here, but ....shouldnt the mexican government be consulted, sovereignity and all that jazz, ya know?...or at least try to dub it "special police operation"

OTH, just a thought, we could improve healthcare in the USA to cut down on medical tourism to Mexico, which is why these folks were there in the first place.

Or crack down on the american citizens trafficking at poe? Tough on crime. Maybe we should invest more in mexicos full industrialization? Because economy. Maybe we decriminalize? Burden on law enforcements time and available manpower. It's pretty difficult to see war as a credible means of reducing kidnappings or general ill will and bad intent towards americans. That's not been our recent experience.
The magats are stuck in a tight space. They have to find a thematically appropriate way to continue signaling their militarism. One that isn't russia, because that would be bidenism and thus pro china. Try beating your head against a tree until it makes perfect sense.

Not to mention that in the article the Republicans are criticizing Biden's administration as a "failure to resolve the issues with Mexican cartels, including kidnapping, drug trafficking, and border crossings", but their solution is to start a war with Mexico. Seems like Republicans are the (bigger) failure.

If the U.S. can invade Mexico to protect Americans, then Russia can invade Ukraine to protect Russians.
Wait - I guess that is what some Republicans believe, though I didn't expect it from Lindsey Graham.

I am waiting to see the reaction to the four Americans who were kidnapped upon entering Mexico recently. Two turned up dead and other two were being held. One of the four was going to have plastic surgery. Are the cartels trying to keep Americans from having butt lifts now? I suppose diversifying from drug sales is a wise investment move.
The spin on this one should be amazing.
