I'd google that name just to make sure I got it right, if I were unsure. "Aleksandr" is such an obvious cognate of "Alexander" that that isn't needed. I did need a mnemonic for his last name, one I taught myself 30 years ago before Google was a thing: "i" comes before the "y" in both the alphabet and Solzhenitsyn's name.

If you're going to quote anyone, get the goddamned name straight, however you do it.
