Rightly or wrongly I can "defend" moral realism in a few short sentences...but it's a herculean task to "defend" the idea of the totally obvious™ lord of all creation?  IDK, I feel like that ought to be a big flashing warning signal in any conflict between the two.

Totally Obvious Deity™ is considerably less obvious than the sun in the sky. The CEO of the whole friggin' universe, less believable than a clump of burning hydrogen 150 million kilometres away? I feel like "don't rape kids" is even more obvious than the sun being a burning ball of gas way the fuck out there. At least you don't have to head "out there" to figure out the thing about kids. We had to build literal time machines to demonstrate the second thing......the first is never further away than your front door. No fancy lens required. All atheism is, is the position of not being convinced that gods exist. Atheism has no: holy books, leaders, doctrine, or dogma.

Atheism does not say anything about any other subject.

That is why there are other, secular frameworks for morality, like Secular Humanism as one example.

When you think about it, there isn't much more to theism, either. Theism is the position of being convinced that at least one god exists. It doesn't say anything about any other subject. That's why there are theistic religions to tell them what's right and wrong.

From what it seems to me lately is that most theists don't come here for discussion but rather to show you (us) how much of this nonsense stuff they are capable of believing in, with a lot of pride.

I've read Quran. In one place it says Earth was made before heaven (Sura 2). In other places it says heaven was made before Earth (Sura 41, Sura 79). So figure out which one it is and get back to us.
