No sooner after I decide to maybe take the risk and try upgrading to Windows 11, do I learn from a youtube video that Windows offers to save all your files and programs during the upgrade process but removes them if you end up rolling back. I mean what the actual fuck? How do they get away with this sort of stuff and how can you ever trust a company that behaves like this? Sometimes I really hate the tech world we live in... I remember a time when companies, particularly tech companies, weren't trying to swindle their customers in one way or another at every given opportunity, but sadly that's becoming more and more rare :-(
I simply rewired my Commodore 64 a few years ago. Now, it updates itself, is in constant communication with WOPR, and demands I address her as Skynet.
I am a very sad girl right now. I burnt my pot of rice that I was cooking, and now I have nothing to eat besides canned corn.

The problem is the main thing I use Windows for is gaming; if Steam was fully supported on Linux, I'd make the move without a second thought and without looking back; I hate being beholden to a company that clearly has no respect for its customers, just in order to play games. I know Steam is trying to make at least some games compatible so that's at least a step in the right direction. Steam is about the only tech company left that I still trust and respect, because they haven't (IMO) gone the route of trying to exploit their customers... yet at least... so I hope they fully integrate with Linux in the future, one way or another... if that's possible, and fits in with the ethos of Linux, them being commercial and all. |
