The Last Movie You Watched
RE: The Last Movie You Watched
Land of Bad (2024) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_of_Bad

Aptly named, this shootemup is so over the top it verges on comedy. Liam Helmsworth bleeds and bleeds and keeps coming back for more. His brother Luke buys a farm. The Baddies aim like storm troopers and are equally faceless, with the exception of Big Baddie. A fat Russel Crow wears glasses and we're supposed to believe he's an Air Force Reaper pilot. The basketball game goes on for 18 hours of elapsed time in the movie. We get to see Crowe pushing his shopping around the market for about a quarter of it. This movie feels like it should be based on a video game like COD. It would have been more on target that way. Movie of Bad.

He wouldn't be a current Reper pilot with that beard, unless the AF has changed its regs since I was in; but it's a drone so glasses would be fine.

The criticism of Crowe is his overall slovenliness and the glasses, and that his wife, who happens to be a vegan, is hours away from giving birth, but it's his 4th wife, but he stays on for 18 hours and gets kicked off the job only to get mesmerized by the wide variety of vegan options at the local grocer while missing the distress call that..... . Just an awful character and hard to believe in a ridiculous movie. Likewise the overall incompetence of his unit, "air force jocks" who spend their time watching basketball and ignoring responsibilities. Man was this movie bad.  And Crowe's character made it terrible. Hey Russ, can you play a fat suckbag?

Makes sense that there's a wider pool of potential talent if corrective lenses are included.

The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936)

Quote:Dr. Samuel Mudd (Warner Baxter) is arrested for being an accomplice to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (Frank McGlynn Sr.) when he unknowingly aids an injured John Wilkes Booth (Francis McDonald) following the shooting at Ford's Theater. He's sentenced to life in prison and sent to a treacherous penal colony on a remote island in the Dry Tortugas.

Great movie. John Ford really knew how to make them.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Not a Hallmark movie, officially, but rather Netflix's take on one:

The Merry Gentlemen

To save her parents' small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.

Besides, Chad Michael Murray. Naughty
