As for the original question, my POV is that it isn't a contest to see who can be the "best" atheist, or the "best" believer.  We are who we are.

It's kind of shattering when the hits we listened to as kids start showing up on the oldies stations.

Well, I'm a kinda down to Earth atheist.

Mostly.

Well, occasionally.

Sometimes.

When people aren't looking...

...but I'm NOT good.

Damn, I got a shiver writing the "g" word!

The best atheists are the ones who don't ring my doorbell at 7:00 AM, armed with enough pamphlets to clog an industrial shredder, asking me if I've heard the good news, and wanting to know if I have a minute to talk about Richard Dawkins.

I don't much care what your beliefs or non-beliefs are, you'll always get points for not pestering me about them.

what do you think about this ?

It seems like circular reasoning, it also looks like a No true Scotsman fallacy, and it is a little vague, and confusing. For example an atheist is anyone who lacks belief in any deity or deities, so measuring how one might be better than another based solely on atheism seems arbitrary, how for example is someone "with no illusions or pretensions; practical and realistic." (or down to earth) a better atheist than someone lacking those characteristics, better how, and in what way, how is atheism relevant at all?
