Church Doubles Down After Preacher Encouraged Prayers for LGBTQ Deaths
An independent Baptist church in Indianapolis has defended a sermon in which church members called for the deaths of people in the LGBTQ+ community.
On July 3, preacher Justin Zhong said in a post on the Sure Foundation Baptist Church's Facebook page that the church would not apologize for the sermon.
"The Bible is crystal clear that sodomites (homosexuals) deserve the death penalty carried out by a government that actually cares about the law of God," Zhong wrote.
The Sure Foundation Baptist Church said: "The Bible puts the death penalty on the LGBTQ people. We as Christians must believe and preach what the Bible says. The reason people are so shocked about all this is not many 'Christians' and even 'pastors' actually believe the Bible. To be clear, we only called for the government to execute those people. We are against vigilantes."
The church's unapologetic endorsement of violent anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric reflects a worrying rise of open homophobia in the United States.
On June 29, the Sure Foundation Baptist Church held "Men's Preaching Night," where multiple church members used homophobic slurs and called for violence against the LGBTQ+ community while speaking from the pulpit.
In a sermon titled "Pray the Gay Away," Stephen Falco addressed the LGBTQ+ community, saying: "You ought to blow yourself in the back of the head. You're so disgusting."

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Odds on Justin Zhong being a closeted self-hating gay?

Christians can 'love all people' and support 'Alligator Alcatraz,' Evangelical group says
Sharayah Colter, chief communications officer at The Danbury Institute, a nonpartisan association of Evangelical churches based in Dallas, Texas, says while the controversy over the Alligator Alcatraz is likely to continue, Evangelicals and other Christians “should support earnest efforts to secure the nation and to uphold law and order.”
When “non-citizens are lured to cross the border illegally” and “undertake a dangerous journey which they may not survive,” women and children risk being raped, killed or taken into human trafficking rings, Colter said. But beyond public safety and security, Colter said allowing people to continue to illegally enter the country could fuel further lawlessness.
“People inside and outside of America are taught by the actions of the nation that our laws are impotent,” she added. “It is wrong to convey to people that it is OK to break the law since Scripture calls people to obey the laws of the land so far as they do not cause a person to break God’s law. When a nation passes laws, the righteous thing to do is to uphold and enforce those laws. To act otherwise is both wrong and cruel.”
“Christians can love all people they encounter and work to share the Good News with all they encounter while still upholding the nation’s laws, advocating for secure borders that protect innocent life, and desiring a safe immigration process for those willing to enter the nation through legal routes,” she added.

So this also means that the Alligator Alcatraz is very much in line with God's law because "Christians obey the law of the land as long as they do not break God's law."

Turning 90, Dalai Lama plans to reincarnate in order spite China who plans to fight his upcoming reincarnation.
Quote:The elderly Dalai Lama assured followers on Wednesday that upon his death he would be reincarnated as the next spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and spelt out a succession process that sets up a renewed clash with China.
Dalai Lama said a non-profit institution he has set up will have sole authority to identify his reincarnation, countering China's insistence that it will choose his successor.
Beijing reiterated on Wednesday that it had to approve the reincarnation and that it had to be done in China through a centuries-old ritual.
The Dalai Lama has said his successor will be born outside China and urged his followers to reject anyone chosen by Beijing. In previous years, he had also said it was possible that there might be no successor at all.

My guess is that Lama appointed Richard Gere to find his reincarnation since Gere was present at his 90th birthday, sitting right behind him and cuddling with him like a dog.
Dalai Lama is no fool so he'll reincarnate in the USA with already connections to the CIA and Pentagon, thus helping Tibetans not only win over the Chinese, but also establish the Greater Tibet.

A red heifer raised in Israel was disqualified for Biblical sacrifice because she was not red enough: two black hairs were found on its body. She was used in a practice burning ceremony for priests.

Lucky immigrants can skip boring Catholic mass, at least in this one diocese in California.
The bishop saw they were suffering so he spared them the additional torture that comes from attending the mass.
Quote:A Catholic bishop in California has issued a rare decree allowing parishioners to miss Mass due to fears of raids by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“All members of the faithful in the Diocese of San Bernardino who, due to genuine fear of immigration enforcement actions, are unable to attend Sunday Mass or Masses on holy days of obligation are dispensed from this obligation, as provided for in Canon 1247, until such time as this decree is revoked or amended,” Rojas wrote in the decree released Tuesday.
The exemption is a remarkable step for Rojas to take because observant Catholics are required to attend Sunday Mass and certain holy days of obligation, such as All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1 and Christmas on Dec. 25.
Failure to attend Mass “unless excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their own pastor” is a mortal sin, according to the Roman Catholic Catechism.

Christians are being persecuted by the existence of trans people and symbols that remind people that they exist.
Quote:Christian claims Pride crosswalks “silence” her & threatens to sue
A resident of the London Borough of Camden has threatened to sue the local Borough Council if it does not remove four crosswalks painted in the colors of the transgender flag.
“That’s not right in a truly democratic society,” she said in a statement. “I’m standing up not just for myself, but for everyone who feels silenced or sidelined by discredited harmful activism forced on the public by ideologically captured local authorities.”
Olubanjo is being supported by the Christian Legal Centre, which purports to “safeguard the freedom of Christians to live and speak for Jesus Christ, and to provide legal support for those taking a stand for Jesus and the truth that flows from him.”
In a press release, the organization explains Olubanjo’s beliefs that the crossing infringes on her rights as a Christian and “constitutes unlawful political messaging.”
“The crossing is a visual endorsement of a contested ideology, installed by a public authority in breach of its legal duties. This is not the role of local government. Public spaces should be able to be used by everyone, not to advance divisive agendas that alienate people of faith and those who hold to biological reality.”
The crosswalks were installed in 2021 in honor of Transgender Awareness Week and are situated near the site of the U.K. National Health Service’s (NHS) former Tavistock Clinic for youth Gender Identity Development Services.

Talk about recurring characters in this thread; here's a short video of William Lane Craig telling the story of how he converted an atheist woman to Christianity. According to the story, he met a woman in a communist country who was a physicist and an atheist, and as a result, she had "blackness in her heart." But when she learned that Craig is a Christian apologist, she asked to read one of his Kalam papers, and after reading it, she converted to Christianity.
Not only did she accept Jesus, but she immediately threw away all of the pills and vodka she was taking 24 hours a day just to survive because all of the darkness in her heart had vanished, and she became a happy and well-adjusted Christian like Craig, who believes God sent HIV to punish homosexuals for not remaining celibate.
