Wow, a doctor who was performing abortions was visited by Thomas Aquinas, who told him to stop, and so he did.

It seems that old Thomas has problems with killing "children" as long as they're not wearing yarmulkes.

(Article is from 2008)
Quote:The Spanish daily “La Razon” has published an article on the pro-life conversion of a former “champion of abortion.” Stojan Adasevic, who performed 48,000 abortions, sometimes up to 35 per day, is now the most important pro-life leader in Serbia, after 26 years as the most renowned abortion doctor in the country.

In describing his conversion, Adasevic “dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence. The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night he asked the man in black and white who he was. ‘My name is Thomas Aquinas,’ the man in his dream responded. Adasevic, educated in communist schools, had never heard of the Dominican genius saint. He didn’t recognize the name”

“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked Adasevic in his dream.

“They are the ones you killed with your abortions,’ St. Thomas told him.

“Adasevic awoke in amazement and decided not to perform any more abortions,” the article stated.

“That same day a cousin came to the hospital with his four months-pregnant girlfriend, who wanted to get her ninth abortion—something quite frequent in the countries of the Soviet bloc. The doctor agreed. Instead of removing the fetus piece by piece, he decided to chop it up and remove it as a mass. However, the baby’s heart came out still beating. Adasevic realized then that he had killed a human being,”

After this experience, Adasevic “told the hospital he would no longer perform abortions. Never before had a doctor in Communist Yugoslavia refused to do so. They cut his salary in half, fired his daughter from her job, and did not allow his son to enter the university.”

After years of pressure and on the verge of giving up, he had another dream about St. Thomas.

“You are my good friend, keep going,’ the man in black and white told him. Adasevic became involved in the pro-life movement and was able to get Yugoslav television to air the film ‘The Silent Scream,’ by Doctor Bernard Nathanson, two times.”

So he decided not to do any more abortions, but then did one anyway, all in the Soviet bloc—but Yugoslavia was never in the Soviet bloc. You lose, EWTN.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Good news! Another one has seen the light.

Quote:Son of Sam Killer David Berkowitz Has Found God in Prison, Believes He’ll Go to ‘Heaven’

In an interview with The New York Post from the Shawangunk Correctional Facility in Ulster County, New York, the 72-year-old serial killer declared that he has found Jesus and believes he will one day go to heaven.

“My home is in heaven, not in the Bronx,” Berkowitz wrote in an email sent to the outlet earlier this week.

Berkowitz, who terrorized New York City in the 1970s by killing six people, said he found Jesus while serving his prison sentence. He has been incarcerated for 48 years.

According to the outlet, Berkowitz skipped a parole hearing earlier this month because he believes he is “already free” and said the “only place” he’s interested in going “is to heaven to be with the Lord.”

This month’s parole hearing would have been his 13th parole bid since 2002, but Berkotwitz is no longer seeking release.

“I opted not to attend. Right now, I have other things to do, which I feel are more meaningful,” he said.

Decades after his crimes, the Son of Sam now preaches the gospel to fellow inmates and oversees a prison congregation, which he described as his “work in prison.”

“These men need guidance and encouragement,” he claimed. “I am an elder, and this is my calling.”

"Has Trump led you to Jesus yet?"

Quote:President Trump’s Fixation On Heaven Is Good For America

Having a president who is humble before God (and openly so) not only expands his political reach but also his moral reach.

It is not inherently strange that Trump is thinking in these terms. What’s more odd is that his predecessors evidently kept religion as far from their decision-making as they did.

Trump’s unapologetic acknowledgment of heaven—which is the ultimate goal every person should strive for—is only out of the ordinary in that it is not something his predecessors seemed focused on. Having a president who makes decisions with one eye on the world and the other on heaven is positive because it leads to decisions rooted in morality rather than earthly desires. Ironically, and only possible through God’s infinite abilities, when decisions are made with the main intention of pleasing God, earthly circumstances also improve (Proverbs 14:34).

Trump’s heavenly intentions are further affirmed by actions that exemplify a sincere approach to governing aimed at saving and improving lives. He has ended eight wars or conflicts since taking office and remains committed to ending another with the conclusion of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Democrats, on the other hand, do not even pretend to hold Christian beliefs, given how contradictory their policies are to those values. When Democrats do invoke God or Christianity, they most often do so by blasphemously misconstruing Christian teachings to benefit their own agendas.

Americans have historically proven to be easily influenced. This is why President Trump and other high-ranking administration officials —such as devout Catholics Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio—must continue to lead in their unwavering acknowledgment of the afterlife and glorification of Christ, as doing so will inspire Americans to turn their eyes to God and have a profoundly positive impact on the nation.

David succumbed to lust (and subsequently murder), Moses had a horrible temper, and Paul persecuted Christians. God used imperfect figures throughout history to lead people to victory while bringing others closer to Him. Trump’s reputation as a brash New York billionaire was not the blueprint most Christians identified with. What they could relate to, however, was a man who, while confident in his own abilities and proud of his accomplishments, becomes submissive, humble, and contemplative when it comes to Christ and his own salvation.

Of all President Trump’s accomplishments, if he—alongside other strong Christian leaders such as the late Charlie Kirk, who undoubtedly had a massive impact on this increase—can continue to lead people to Jesus Christ, regardless of how unorthodox his methods in this regard may be, that will be his greatest accomplishment of all.

Indeed, all authoritarian despots are ‘fixated’ on religion. It’s merely a useful tool to keep the masses in line.

Funny how these people never find Jesus before they decide to go on a killing spree.

That's good stuff. I wonder how often faith healings fail because the faith healer fails to recognize a fresh faced new seeker vs a fresh faced plant?

"We apologize for something we should have known was wrong right away, let alone do it for centuries. It was impossible to know back then that slavery is a bad thing. Now, let us be your moral guide."

Quote:Pope Leo XIV makes historic apology for Vatican’s role in legitimizing slavery

Pope Leo XIV made a historic apology on Monday for the role the Holy See played in legitimizing slavery and for having failed to condemn it for centuries, calling the Vatican’s record a “wound in Christian memory.”

Past popes have apologized for Christians’ involvement in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. But no pope had ever publicly acknowledged, much less apologized for, the role that past popes played in giving European sovereigns explicit authority to subjugate and enslave “infidels.”

“It is impossible not to feel deep sorrow when contemplating the immense suffering and humiliation endured by so many in stark contrast to their immeasurable dignity as persons infinitely loved by the Lord,” Leo wrote. “For this, in the name of the church, I sincerely ask for pardon.”

A series of 15th-century directives from the Vatican authorized Portuguese sovereigns to conquer Africa and the Americas and enslave non-Christians.

In 1452, for example, Pope Nicholas V issued the papal bull Dum Diversas, which gave the Portuguese king and his successors the right “to invade, conquer, fight and subjugate” and take all possessions — including land — of “Saracens, and pagans, and other infidels, and enemies of the name of Christ” anywhere.

The bull also gave the Portuguese permission “to reduce their persons to perpetual slavery.”

That bull and another issued three years later, Romanus Pontifex, formed the basis of the Doctrine of Discovery, the theory that legitimized the colonial-era seizure of land in Africa and the Americas.

Nicholas V’s permissions to the Portuguese were confirmed or renewed by Pope Callixtus III in 1456, Pope Sixtus IV in 1481 and Pope Leo X in 1514, according to the Rev. Christopher J. Kellerman, a Jesuit priest.

Leo said that it wasn’t possible to judge the morality of the decisions with today’s standards.
