The Evidence Required Is?

RE: The Evidence Required Is?
"Like I said...God should be STUPID obvious if he exists."

Romans 1
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

We are ALL without excuse.

black36, do you happen to have any original thoughts to bring to the party or is it all going to be biblespam? Just curious.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You'd rather I speak on my own authority on such matters? It seems better to appeal to higher authority with this one, rather than arrogantly making personal assertions, no?

He "thinks" with his bible.

You always do and only can speak with your own authority. It was your idea to copy those bible quotes here. We're just wondering if you have anything to say about how you think they relate to the conversation. We all have access to bibles and don't really think that highly of it as a reference so please leave the quotes there and just say what you want to say.

The point in sharing the scripture reference was to show from a higher authority that the existence of God is "stupid obvious", that's all.

First you would have to demonstrate that such an authority even exists before anyone can be expected to consider anything said in its name. It's something which has been likened to discussions of the social structure of the Yeti. You could write whole books on the subject and go into incredibly anal detail, but until the creatures' existence is demonstrated it's nothing but fanwank. Personal assertions are perfectly fine, provided they can be be independently verified and/or are accompanied by evidence that can be thusly verified; all subject to ECREE, of course.

Ah. Well if that is the case he has nothing to say that I need to hear and so he can be safely ignored. I can go to the Skeptic's Annotated Bible for all that stuff.

Stimbo, God is there, and you know it. No need to demonstrate, that's Paul's point.

Well, if all you are going to do is preach shit at me I'm making you go away. I don't have to sit here and swallow it. Bye-bye.

The only thing that I can think of that would convince me that there's a god would be to have a sense of knowing for sure. I doubt that there could ever be a miracle that would do it.
