Celebrate the horrors of the crucifixion with the children, buy resurrection eggs!

RE: Celebrate the horrors of the crucifixion with the children, buy resurrection eggs!
"An Anglo-Saxon legend tells how the Saxon goddess Eostre found a wounded bird and transformed it into a hare, so that it could survive the Winter. The hare found it could lay eggs, so it decorated these each Spring and left them as offering to the goddess."

The true meaning of Easter!?!?!?

OR

"The egg and hare(bunny) were symbols of Ostara representing fertility and new life in the Spring. Since ancient times many cultures have associated eggs with the universe. They've been dyed, decorated and painted by the Romans, Gaul's, Persians and the Chinese. They were used in ancient spring festivals to represent the rebirth of life. Dyed eggs also formed part of the rituals of the Babylonian mystery religions and in Egypt they were hung in temples as symbol of regenerative life."

Oh! Is that it?

OR

Does anyone know?

I told them that the last thing I wanted to see was some guy get the crap beat out of him. It mattered not that this guy was (at the time) my lord and savior. I didn't want to sit through all that. Some people looked at me like I was weird, others thought I was less of a Christian.

I think that's one thing which helped me to become an atheist. Even though I was totally religious, I hated getting hit over the head with it all the time. I guess that's why I'll never understand the people who actually sit and watch religious channels on TV or listen to Christian radio stations.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

I just finished reading a book by Michel hermer. I think it was in that book it was mentioned that when people hear something that confirms what they already believe it activates something in their brain which gives them pleasure. When they hear something that goes against what they already believe it caused displeasure. In other words the repetition of things they believe is like getting high (or other things). Granted so are many other things like when beliefs are confirmed here on this forum.
I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
