A rare accurate statement from Romney!

RE: A rare accurate statement from Romney!
I'm saying the criticism is rather invalid when it comes to 'costing more money to set up'. The cost of adjusting the tax code is too high to begin with and this scenario illustrates that perfectly.

If anything, it's not a criticism but a statement of fact.

And to it 'generating 11 hours of income', does that factor in the actual percolation of income throughout the entire budgetary structure, or is it some dumbass ball park figure derived from calculating the gross net income and comparing that against gross net operating costs of the government?

I'm not trusting of anything Mr. Romney claims.

Tib, there are three kindsa people in this world that the word "unfair" doesn't apply to: Millionaries, billionaires, and religious leaders. XD

The South Park episode on illegal downloading comes to mind every time someone starts claiming raising the taxes on people making 7+ figures is unfair. Oh no, they'll have to wait a few more months to afford their gold-and-jewel-encrusted in-pool wet-bar-with-shark-tank? Fucking WAAAAH. Meanwhile there's kids in the inner city smoking crack and shooting one another? Fuck that! Allow me to direct my pity at someone who ACTUALLY deserves it; the rich entitled upper crust of the nation! Now THERE are some poor souls need a tear shed for their plights...

I have to agree. Fairness cannot really be applied to the situation. Is it fair that someone makes exponentially more money for the same or less work than another? Does it really matter if they are more educated or intelligent when it comes to "fairness?" Fair is about equality and just desserts. It isn't about making sure the rich get to keep their pennies. When a person can make the same in a day as another makes in a year basically sitting around and having their hair done, my outlook on fairness tends to change when it comes to them. I'm sure those dipshit reality show chicks that whine for a living could spare a few thousand for Uncle Sam. I really don't give a shit if it hurts their feelings.

I agree. I'm also not saying all rich people are dicks, hell, Warren Buffet was like "Dude, my secretary pays more taxes than me. I'm a billionaire. This shit is fucked up." Yes, the rich pay more here than they do in Europe...well, look at how FANTASTIC Europe is doing with their governments' budgets. Greece is just...well, they're completely screwed, Italy's having tons of issues, Spain's struggling, even France is feeling the pressure. Heck, used to be the rich paid like 90% or more in taxes and we used that money to build our infrastructure. Now their taxes are like half that and our infrastructure is getting outdated and our education is slipping badly. Not saying finances are ALL the problem, lots of those departments need some restructuring and streamlining, but it's easier to do that with money than without it. People talk about the rich being the "job creators," yet our unemployment is really bad and it isn't really improving all that much. They got their tax cut extension and yet the employment rate didn't really go up much, if at all. I consider it a contract; the tax cuts were extended to give them leeway to hire more workers. They did not meet expectations, the social contract is breached, so the tax cuts for them should expire. If they use it as an excuse to stop hiring or to fire, well, there's a certain point to which they can hope to keep productivity up with smaller workforces and the tax rate can keep climbing ever higher the more they breach the social contract, and if they want to outsource? Start slapping heavy taxes and fines on outsourced labor until they get the freakin' hint and get with the program and start contributing to the improvement of the economy in a way that is beneficial to everyone, themselves included [more people working means more people consuming], and not just themselves.
