i love that hellcat tho (despite it's make). i'm a musclebike guy. feel like i'm too old to lean into a sport bike anymore and don't quite require forward controls yet, i want that upright position of strength and control. i don't like skinny, peanut or teardrop tanks that must choppers roll out today. i want the entire bike to look like a piece of iron. no plastics and all mechanicals visible. harley's new iron is about as cool as i've ever seen one of them look - and all matte black - no chrome anywhere. only prob is it's harley and it's only an 883cc (i think).

My "dream bike" if I ever get off my 250 licence.

I still bounce the idea of buying an earlier Confederate, like a Confederado. I do want one. If I move to Australia (which is likely in the next couple of years), I may buy one and slowly tweak it to be "me." As a daily there, I think I want a VStrom 1000. Ugly, but practical.

Just so you know, Perth has a/ the best employment prospects and b/ the highest per capita motorcycle population in the country.
And c/ the least traffic enforcement
I am rather partial to the Harley 48
Though with a 9L fuel tank it is somewhat impractical.

That is a badass scoot, Zen. My only issue with it is that it is a Harley, and Harley has created the largest cult of roadgoing zombies ever.
I am very likely marrying a girl from Sydney, and her house is above Bondi, so that is where I'll be. I'll be headed that way in June for a month.

The VStrom is very popular here in Perth! So you ARE coming to AUS?! Perth does have THE biggest motorcycling community in Australia... good roads and not so bad police enforcement.
Excellent!

A two-up dream bike:
Definitely coming there this summer (winter), taking the girl and her little boy back to the States for another year of teaching, after which we will most likely return to live at Bondi.

I'm not normally a fan of Harleys either, mainly because of the hype that surrounds them and frankly for the money there are a shitload of cruisers that are roughly twice the bike for half the money.
But the 48 does look good.
P.s When you get to Sydney you might want to check out Dues Ex Machina, they do the most gorgeous old skool customs.
